#player2 Jackson Jackson
>Matt: DEIJOTZ H7 JOT +20 20
#note My gut told me to play EJIDO but then I felt like I shouldn't give up so many floaters to Jackson. Q says do it
>Jackson: FIIMNPU 7F FU.I +16 16
>Matt: ABDEIKZ 10H ADZ +44 64
>Jackson: DIMNOPQ 6I QI +24 40
>Matt: BDEGIKO K7 BIKED +38 102
>Jackson: DEMNOPR 8K .MPED +39 79
#note didn't think IMPRO was a word - DEN is rated as 4.2 better than NOR! given my deficit I should especially be maximizing bingo chances
>Matt: AEEFGIO 9K .IEF +26 128
#note A sim prefers FOGIE 6B by a couple of points, but I think it's close enough that this can be considered stylistic. With a closed board, the JOTAS hook will become really important and I don't have it, but I still don't think there's a reason to throw the board open like that
>Jackson: ENOORST 11B ENROOTS +76 155
>Matt: AEEGOO C9 GE.OA +16 144
#note I didn't write my rack here and can't remember what I held, but I have a sneaking suspition that my leave was EO?. If it was, I missed OOGAmE(T)E
>Jackson: HLORRRY B10 Y.H +35 190
#note jeeeeez missed the wonderful LOR(R)Y! Can't believe it
>Matt: ?CELOWX 6E COX +30 174
#note This position was really cool! I had a lot of options - none great, all good. COX on top holds the W for A12 plays that will score around 50; (R)EX scores a lot but blocks W plays; COW or COWL front hooking YE score now and keep the X; (R)EWaX scores 61 but plays everything good that I have... I still don't know what's right, but I liked this play then and like it now. 4-ply sim prefers COW or (R)EX though.
>Jackson: LLNORRR A12 ROLL +22 212
>Matt: ?AELUWY A8 YAW +36 210
>Jackson: EGINRRU O6 UR. +4 216
#note hilarious that this is the second highest static play! refigure is highest. This is kinda weird cause I am probably in fact the favourite to hit the O column so maybe I should play RUT instead. I sort of liked this to confuse him though since it looks like such an odd play.
>Matt: ??ELNUW B2 UNWhoLE +71 281
>Matt: ??ELNUW -- -71 210
#note J: not an easy challenge
M: In my head, I was actually pretty sure (maybe 75%) this was invalid but I've been dominating Jackson at the challenge computer this series and it's so hard to challenge a two-blank bingo when I have available ones like LaUWiNE in the same spot. After Jackson's 4-point fish/block, I prefer giving him the worst available floaters and UNW is pretty dang bad, but if I see gUNWaLE instead of just LaUWiNE, I'd play that instead. I took a big risk to gain a small advantage and in hindsight, that was stupid.
>Jackson: EGHINRT B6 THE +13 229
#note blocking gunwale/lauwine (only saw the former)
>Matt: ??ELNUW F10 W. +13 223
#note wimped!
>Jackson: ADGINRU L7 A..D +27 256
#note thought about MIDAIR as well - I thought it would raise his bingo % but really he just bingoes from the L or with genoas or something, and midairs bingoes also give back stuff to me. the other thing I liked about AMID was for trying to hit a counter bingo next turn with GINRU. one problem with midair is that the board will be much more closed after he bingoes on the bottom, whereas amid keeps it a lot more open
>Matt: ??EILNU 15A .UtEoLIN +71 294
#note Would rather play LEvULINs because it makes it harder for Jackson to bingo and the Q/X/H are already gone
>Jackson: EGINRTU A1 GUNITE +26 282
#note think my outrunning chances are decent after this, no point in fishing cause he'll block. I guess I could play to the C in COX, but URIC isn't very inviting
>Matt: AAACIIO C4 CIAO +16 310
#note I absolutely hated giving Jackson the C to bingo from, but with a post-bingo draw this bad, getting outrun is a very severe possibility. I think A(D)O for 23 is better because it makes it tougher for Jackson to bingo and the risk of tripling up on the A/I is not that high.
>Jackson: AMNNRST 2A .NARM +14 296
#note my raw bingo % is only slightly higher after fishing the N, but I think that could incite more blocks of the 14 row than if I play UNARM or NAM.
>Matt: AAEEIPS 14E PEA +16 326
#note This is the problem with CIAO! Jackson has 3 decent bingo lines available and I can't do enough about any of them. With only 5 vowles in the entire remaining pool, AEIS is a pretty solid leave but I don't know if I should be opening more lines and assuming I can bingo in the next two turns or if I should be trying to close them. I tried to close, and you'll see how that turned out for me
>Jackson: GINSTTV -GTV +0 296
#note I was worried about exch. TV cause I really want to draw a bingo that plays on the 1/2 row, and it's hard to start with a vowel when i'm keeping GINST. INST bingoes about the same as GINST in the sim
>Matt: ABEINSS F2 SIB +17 343
#note I assumed Jackson had thrown back VV (or maybe V+ 2 consonants) and I'm very worried about picking those up. I tried my best to obstruct the best bingo lines but not play too many tiles in hopes that I don't draw both Vs and jackson may get a gross post-bingo draw of a lot of consonants and a V. Maybe I shouldn't worry about a bingo and should play something like (Z)INEB for 25 setting up big S plays - I'd be up by 55 and after Jackons's bingo I can score a lot... but if I don't know how often I end up with a 6-letter S word since I'm likely drawing a bunch of consonants.
>Jackson: AEEINST 4F .ETAINES +72 368
>Matt: AEGLNST 3J LATENS +22 365
#note Ran myself down to about 20 seconds and saw that this would win by 2, so I didn't try and get cute with complex V-sticks. In a best-of-7, spread doesn't matter but I should be able to figure out endgames better and faster and with more confidence....
>Jackson: ORRVV L1 VO..R +12 380
>Matt: G F10 ..G +7 372
#note GIMPED is better if I'm 100% sure it's good, but no reason to risk a sure win
>Matt: (RV) +10 382
