>Matt_Canik: DIJNNOS H4 JOINS +40 40
#note JOINS, DJINNS, and JINNS all deserve some consideration here. It's pretty nice to have the D hook on JINNS for myself, but OD is a kind of gross leave, and holding the D gives me some pulls into DIS(JOINS).

In the end, a Q sim has them all very close, with JINNS and JOINS flip-flopping atop the leaderboard and DJINNS about one point behind. Flip a coin.
>Jackson_Smylie: ANNY 4H .ANNY +30 30
>Matt_Canik: ?BDFNNR I2 BR.ND +14 54
#note Q prefers B(A)ND and F(I)ND each by about 3 points to this. I guess FN? is pretty unstable - Q thinks BRAND bingos almost 10% less often than F(I)ND (41% vs 51%) and about 8% less often than B(A)ND. The way this game is going to end up, I would like to have that 8%........
>Jackson_Smylie: BIOX K3 I.BOX +28 58
>Matt_Canik: ?EEFNUW G6 FEU +19 73
#note ENUF J7 deserves a lot more thought than I gave it. I love making a blocky play like this, but the S on the star is advantageous towards the player closest to a bingo - that's gotta be me at this point since I have the blank. FEU blocks that high-scoring bingo opportunity, which I shouldn't be doing right now, althought it opens up lower-scoring lines.
>Jackson_Smylie: GO J1 GO +11 69
>Matt_Canik: ?AEKNTW F7 KNEW +29 102
#note I feel really optimistic about my chances - GO isn't necessarily a fish because the board is so bad, but Jackson played it pretty quickly, so I was thinking it was more likely that he was in bingo-range. KNEW forces Jackson's bingos to play at E9, and holding AT? when a 3x3 is about to be opened feels pretty good.
>Jackson_Smylie: EILM L6 MILE +20 89
>Matt_Canik: ?ACDQRT 10I CARD +17 119
#note This turn is where the wheels started to come off. Jackson made a pretty agressive opening move there. He's probably not just frustrated with the board - he's probably holding some decent stuff after MILE.

I gave exchanging DQ and CQ consideration here for the same reason as earlier - a lot of the time, Jackson's bingoes will open up a 3x3 for me - but in the end, I just felt like it was smarter for me to clog up the board again. Q also thinks exchanging QT is a good option.

I also had plays in the 9 row ending in -(E)D/(FEU)D, like ACR(E)D and CRAT(E)D. I didn't really like making those either - small lead and a blank on my rack makes lower-variance games my friend.

Of course, I failed to remember the correct back hooks for MILE - I remembered that MILER is valid, and concluded that MILE must be a verb too. It's not - MILED*

Weird turn. I'm sure this isn't right, but I don't know what is.
>Jackson_Smylie: EZ 9J ZE. +25 114
>Matt_Canik: ?LQTTTU -QTTU +0 119
#note No good reason to hold the QU combo right now
>Jackson_Smylie: FR J9 ..RF +16 130
>Matt_Canik: ?ELOOTW E9 WOO +22 141
#note WOO is a standard equity play but completely gives on the closed board. With a pool that's skewed pretty strongly vowel-heavy right now, I was less keen on making a play like (F)OWL that held EOT?, so I just went ahead and played WOO.

>Jackson_Smylie: INY 8L .INY +21 151
>Matt_Canik: ??ELQTT D8 QaT +32 173
#note It's around this point that I started wondering if the tile gods genuinely didn't want me to bingo this game. I've had one blank since the second turn and just got the second, but redrew the LQTT combo I just threw back too.

QaT felt so horrible to make in the moment, but is there anything else that makes sense?
>Jackson_Smylie: AEERSTT 13H RESTATE +83 234
>Matt_Canik: ?ELLTUV H11 VE.TU +27 200
#note Wow, I'm really not going to bingo this game, am I!?!?!?
>Jackson_Smylie: ADGIORS N5 GRA.DIOS. +65 299
#note A nice find by Jackson, but also &&#*&!*&$* how did you bingo twice while I've had a blank for 8 turns without bingoing once
>Matt_Canik: ?AEELLT H1 LA +11 211
#note Finally I draw my bingo and then I miss it. pLATELE(T)

>Matt_Canik: OUU E14 U. +5 317
#note I hope people feel smothered like this when I'm able to play good defense, but man I was frustrated this game. I didn't have to be in some of the positions I was in though, if I had just played better
