#note I saw GIBLI, but it seemed more dangerous than putting the G or B in the triple lane.

>JD: ?EGHNRR 10E HER +24 196
#note I agonized between playing HER, HERN and JOGGER. to me, UTE signaled he likely had an S, and JOGGER would set him up too nicely even though I have the blank in hand. HERN is a little bit less likely to bingo than HER, but more flexible on turns when I miss.

>JD: ?AEGNRU 14D UNGEARs +80 276
#note lucky draw allows me to make a really defensive play that effectively kills the bottom of the board
>Dr._Bing: AEUV O3 UVEA +17 198
#note interesting play, since he has VAUTE at B10 for 15 more (but he doesn't want to kill the board) or UVAE at 14L for 5 more. I guess he felt that he had to reopen the top-right to have a chance of winning, which I agree with.
>JD: EEIOTTT 15H TETE +21 297
#note I didn't know TOTTIE as a standalone 6.
>Dr._Bing: S 12E .......S +32 230
>JD: EEIIORT 14A IO +8 305
#note I think killing the left side of the board is worthwhile in spite of the painful scoring plays whenever dave has an F. the only alternative that I can see is IO at M5, but Dave will most likely play on column L and the board will be fairly open.

#note lucky draw

>Dr._Bing: ALSV H1 SLAV. +36 310
>JD: AEFIIMO 4H .OEMA +34 445
#note I should be good here no matter what I play. the spread play is FOLIA or FOLIE, but I was slightly worried about the high-scoring tiles in the pool and decided to stump for the points instead.
>Dr._Bing: LW 3G L.W +23 333
>JD: DEEFIIY 6F FED +27 472
#note Dave mentioned after the game that he was relieved that I didn't fish at the end. I should've considered it: the only bingo dave can have here is SCROBES, which YU outruns (and I would still be good even if he had a 95-point bingo to the S). I can block SCROBES with SLAVEY, but then I also inhibit the possibility of drawing EDIFICE in two spots.
