#player1 Mack Mack
#player2 Deen Deen
>Mack: BEIMMSW H7 WEB +16 16
#note Looks better than MEW despite the duplicates - MM goes well together but MB isn't great synergically.
>Deen: ELOV I6 VOLE +22 22
>Mack: AHIMMST 10I SHIM +25 41
#note Nearly played HELM, but 16 points felt like too much to give up - turns out I was wrong: Deen averages 10 more after SHIM but I average 11 more after HELM and bingo 41% after HELM versus 15% after SHIM. HELM for sure.
>Deen: FIKL 11K FILK +36 58
>Mack: ?ACEMNT 8G s..ECTMAN +89 130
#note Saw TrACKMEN for 3 more but thought I might draw a challenge. This also has some positional benefits like making the left side harder to access and not giving back big plays paralleling TrACKMEN or through the R at N8 (though TrACKMEN does block FILKS plays). Close call, I'm fine with sacrificing the 3 points here though.
>Deen: AY 9M YA +22 80
>Mack: AFINSUU O11 SNAFU +39 169
#note No reason to risk KUFI with a big lead even though I have an S - he could easily have an S after YA.
>Deen: HIN N13 HIN +29 109
>Mack: AAIPTUX 12L XI +44 213
>Deen: IIIII -IIIII +0 109
>Mack: AAIOPTU O2 UTOPIA. +10 223
#note Not much else, so figured I'd block the N and turn over tiles for the ?SS
>Deen: AR M11 ..AR +26 135
#note Was looking at the possibility of this play myself and was actually happy to see Deen play it even though 26 is a lot of points for this board - the MIXT hook is very hard to deal with otherwise.
>Mack: AADEGGN L3 GADGE. +18 241
#note I was thinking I'd parallel GADGET next turn and shut the board down completely, but GAMY might be better - plays like Deen's next play open the board in a way that is hard for me to shut down.
>Deen: EPRU 3I PUR.E +22 157
>Mack: AINOORS N4 NOO +15 256
#note It's very hard for me to block the new opening effectively - putting anything except an I below the P gives back hooks above the P that are very hard to block later. I actually considered 4I IN, but didn't want to give back an easy JUN/JO for 50, which would bring Deen uncomfortably close even on this board. There is also some potential for the board to be reopened with an SO- play from G8 or a play like TRI(BE), so IN seemed too paranoid - if the left side was entirely impossible to reopen I might have gone for IN, figuring if Deen got JO I'd grind it out on a dead board and win by like 30. Here, though, NOO seems fine - I'm still up a little if Deen hits something.
>Deen: DEIW 4F WIDE +14 171
>Mack: AAABIRS F4 .AB +14 270
#note I may have gotten too cute here, figuring Deen would have to have the blank and make it an A to bingo after this since I have the last A's. But I don't even have a letter that goes at E5, and if he somehow has a bingo at E5 is scores a LOT and I could be in trouble. Continuing to play the waiting game with K3 RAIA seems a little sounder.
>Deen: Q G3 Q. +21 192
>Mack: AAIIORS K3 .AI +14 284
#note Now I have no choice really but to do this and hope Deen can't hit column E, hence why WAB was likely not smart. Clearly RAI>RAIA to save the A.
>Deen: DEV 5C DEV. +16 208
>Mack: AIJOORS 4A JIAO +45 329
>Deen: CRY 3C CRY +31 239
>Mack: ENOORSU A4 .OURNO +39 368
#note Now I'll clearly outrun any bingo, so may was well try to bingo again myself with my ES leave.
>Deen: TT J7 T.T. +18 257
>Mack: EENRSSZ 10A SEZ +28 396
#note OK, back to defense - there aren't really any good Z fishes here. I guess I could do 7A REZ, but this is fine.
>Deen: EG E1 GE. +7 264
>Mack: EENORST 1B TON.ERS +27 423
#note Deen's only bingos from the G are actually GRILLADE and GLADLIER, which he only has 1/8 of the time, so I might be better off playing REZ to block 11B bingos.
>Deen: ?DEILLR 11B RaLLIED +76 340
>Deen: (ET) +4 344
