>Jim_Burlant: BEEGNRX 8G REX +20 20
#note Had no clue what to do here. Apparently the play is to play 8F BERG and keep the X. I sort of see that, because REX gives back easy 25-point plays over/underlapping the X even if he doesn't hit a meaningful premium space. Having said that, I'm also not sure I want to watch the X clog up my rack if he doesn't open up a good spot on the next turn. If I have to sacrifice the equity, now's the time to do it.
>Mike_Early: OO I7 O.O +12 12
>Jim_Burlant: BDDEEGN 7F DEB.NED +19 39
#note Yuck, not sure I agree with the duck. Apparently I should play H7 BEG if Quackle is to be bhelieved. I saw that this gave back easy plays, but I didn't think keeping DEEGN or DDEEN was going to get me anywhere either. If he came back for 30 on row 8, so be it. This did work out, however.
>Mike_Early: AGY 9H Y.GA +16 28
>Jim_Burlant: FGIINRS 10B FIRINGS +80 119
#note There's nothing like falling head-over-teakettle into greatness by drawing FIINRS to a G and having your opponent open an even juicier spot for it. Only bingo.
>Mike_Early: EEINRTU D8 UN.ETIRE +70 98
#note Playes at D4 and D3 for 68.
>Jim_Burlant: AEIIORR 15C A.RIER +18 137
#note Hmmm. Obviously I should defend row 15, but Quackle thinks I should play 14B AIRIER instead. I see the hot spot at 14F that my choice creates, and I realize the leave is better with AIRIER than with my choice, but I still don't think that justifies leaving all sorts of easy plays available on row 15.
>Mike_Early: AL 14F LA +10 108
>Jim_Burlant: ADDIOTY 8K TODAY +37 174
#note Or TOADY. TODDY scores more but I'd rather keep DI than AI for the sake of balance.
>Mike_Early: HTU 13G HUT +21 129
>Jim_Burlant: ?ABILOS M8 .IABOLoS +72 246
#note Looked for something to the Y and couldn't think of SOcIABLY. I then whiffed on the N column bingoes, so I gave up and settled on this. SOCIABLY is best, and 14I ABOLISH is next best. Other choices include SAILBOAT and ABOuLIAS down the N column. 95% to win.
>Mike_Early: ACIN B10 .INCA +20 149
>Jim_Burlant: GJLMNSW 12L J.WL +30 276
>Mike_Early: PU 15M .UP +15 164
>Jim_Burlant: GKMNOSZ N6 ZO. +32 308
#note I wasn't looking at the whole board; I was more concerned about shutting down the O column. This isn't airtight but it does make it harder for him to hit. I'm fine with this. The sim preferes 14K ZOOM for 6 more.
>Mike_Early: ACETT O2 TECTA +21 185
>Jim_Burlant: DGIKMNS N1 KID +23 331
>Mike_Early: EPV 10L P.VE +17 202
>Jim_Burlant: EGMNOSS 14J GEN.M +30 361
>Mike_Early: AEILMNR 1G LINEMAR. +95 297
>Mike_Early: AEILMNR -- -95 202
#note I've gotta give Mike an A for effort on this one. MARLINE/MINERAL/MANLIER don't play, and like me, he's forgotten there's a 4th anagram that was added with the last update (RAILMEN). He trails by 159 and, since he's missing RAILMEN, what does he have to lose? Even if he finds RAILMEN his winning chances are 1.6%.
>Jim_Burlant: FOOSSTU 13B .U.F +18 379
#note Normally I would play FOU M2, but I don't want to give him a place for MANLIER, and FOO is no better, since it gives him MINERAL. The play here is to just dump some tiles and add a few points to my lead.
