#player1 Matt_O'Connor Matt O'Connor
#player2 JD JD
>Matt_O'Connor: INTV 8G VINT +14 14
>JD: IMNOPRU 7H PIUM +18 18
#note I'd only played Matt once before, but I knew the scouting report: very fast and kinda blocky! Q thinks that I missed a chance here to make a fishy play like PUT at J6 that gives very little back and keeps a sneaky strong leave. IMNOR is about 5 points better than NOR, which is the margin in the sim between these two plays. FWIW, INOR and NOR are about equally strong, so it's the M that really starts turbo-charging NOR, especially if you can pull an A, E or I subsequently.
>Matt_O'Connor: DEGIORW -DEGIO +0 14
>JD: ?ANNORW L1 NONWARs +78 96
>JD: EFFNOTW (challenge) +5 101
>Matt_O'Connor: AMSY K5 YA.S +38 52
>JD: EFFNOTW 2K W.OF +20 121
#note this play doesn't score much. I can play WOE at M2 which keeps a better scoring leave while similarly blocking, or alternatively NEWTON at 1G keeping FF. EFNT doesn't have much to do on this board.
>Matt_O'Connor: Q I6 Q.. +12 64
>JD: EFLNNTY 3J FE.NY +39 160
#note passed up LYNE/TYNE and WOOFY and didn't see FYLE. FYLE best.
>Matt_O'Connor: EEGR 1H GREE. +24 88
>JD: AEJLNRT 4I JA +14 174
#note takes out half of the bingos that matt could have at this point
>Matt_O'Connor: AEIK 2F KAIE +23 111
>JD: ELNORST 3B LENTORS +79 253
#note wow that was lucky
>Matt_O'Connor: DDIO 4A DIDO +25 136
>JD: EENORTT A4 .OTTER +21 274
#note he blocked TELETRON, tough life. between DOTTER and DETORT, it seems like DOTTER might be a little more defensive according to the sim - have to put an E at B9, versus being able to start a bingo with any vowel.
>Matt_O'Connor: ADEIRSU B8 RESIDUA +74 210
>JD: CEIINVX C9 XI +37 311
#note big error, just take the points for VEX! I was scared of the disaster potential with CIIN if I draw another I, but CEINV only helps me score 2-3 points extra next turn.
>Matt_O'Connor: ABBL 15A BLAB +42 252
>JD: ACEINOV D11 VOCA. +24 335
>Matt_O'Connor: HHO 5C HOH +28 280
>JD: ?DEINOP G5 PrO.INED +75 410
>JD: AEGIIUZ (challenge) +5 415
#note I was worried he'd play a double-double from the V. drawing the blank was a relief.
>Matt_O'Connor: LMT 13A M.L.T +18 298
>JD: AEGIIUZ 10F U.I +5 420
#note I'm trying to block some random giant bingos like VEGELATES
>Matt_O'Connor: EU 12G .UE +5 303
>JD: ACEGISZ J10 ZAS +37 457
#note if he hadn't played at 12G, I was thinking about playing AD at 12F to set up a big ADZ play depending on what he did. the best actual play is the sweet ACE at 13I which sets up ZIGS in two spots. I had run out of time.
>Matt_O'Connor: AEEGLRT K10 AG +23 326
>JD: CEGI 10J ..G +13 470
#note ran out of time. thought this was clever. was not clever. YAGI gives me two outs.
>Matt_O'Connor: EELRT M2 ..ER +15 341
>JD: CEI I11 C.E +12 482
#note flubbed the endgame, went over by a minute
>Matt_O'Connor: ELT L10 .ELT +17 358
>Matt_O'Connor: (I) +2 360
