#note The equity play. No reason to play differently here.
>Tom: ?AAGLMM 7C AMaLGAM +77 108
#note Helluva find!
>Lipey: ADEENSU D2 UNSEA.ED +74 107
>Tom: CIOT K10 OTIC +27 135
>Lipey: ?DIQTTW L4 WITT. +22 129
#note I didn't think of 8A WITED, which is best. WITTY is fun because it threatens QI for 44 if you draw an I, or a spot for a good Q dump. QIN here is bad because DTTW is so terrible. Best to hold on to Q? with a floating U for next turn.
>Tom: DEFO M3 DEFO +28 163
>Lipey: ?DFGNOQ K3 FOG +34 163
#note Bad draw but at least I can score with FG and try again with Q? next turn.
>Tom: EEHIT 13I TE.HIE +24 187
#note Held this for a while; wasn't sure if it was only TECHY. They're both fine!
>Lipey: ?DNOOQU N1 QUOD +39 202
#note O column is a huge opportunity here! Nothing can use it -- N10 QUeEN obsdcures and burns the blank for only 27, plus the counterplay is going to be 30+ .. eugh. The other great thing about QUOD is the natural response is 1N QI or O1 IN or smth -- which leaves O column open if we can draw an R or S bingo to go with NO? .... fingers crossed!
>Tom: AEV E9 AVE +15 202
#note He doesn't have an I and can't take advantage of O column ... lucky lucky
>Lipey: ?HIINOR O8 NOIRIsH +91 293
#note 💥 😎 🔥
>Tom: AKNPR 12D PRANK +39 241
#note 58 pt monster available
>Lipey: GIJLOUW J2 JOW +46 339
>Tom: BEY 6H BEY +27 268
>Lipey: EGILLPU N6 PLUG +29 368
#note So many X spots .. priority to start zaping them, even over blocking QI
>Tom: BER N12 B.ER +26 294
>Lipey: EILLRSV 14F LIVER +18 386
#note Pretty much everything wins here unless things go horribly wrong. Q like just taking IRE; it does put me up 100+ so I'll probably need two bingos, or a bing + X bomb to lose. I feel like VILER in the spot leaves me open to a freakish underlap, or smth like 15G TAX, and then a bingo would make it close. LIVER, otoh, makes 15A really tough to hit, and freezes the H15 square. Q also suggests various fishes (LEV, VILE) but don't do that here. IRE is probably fine.
>Tom: I 1N .I +33 327
>Lipey: EILRSTX C2 XI +31 417
#note So happy to see the X, plus I can score and block with it.
>Tom: ACEIORS F2 CARIO.ES +72 399
#note Oh. I wasn't expecting that to happen there. Maybe I should have played IRE.
>Lipey: AELRSTT L10 LAT.ER +39 456
#note Plenty clear. No use getting worked up, into, you know.
>Tom: ANOS 13B NAOS +20 419
>Tom: (ST) +4 423
#note I definitely underadded myself by 10; we agreed on 446-423.
