#note I was getting pretty tired of this occurring seemingly every other game. I held this in the hopes that I would convince myself that it wasn't a word, which would somehow change the fact that this was a word.
>Joshua_Sokol: EEGHLOS K9 .HOG +16 38
#note I don't enjoy making plays like this. I desire giving myself multiple ways to win the game. Not multiple bingo lanes to use, but multiple options that will bring me ahead. 11D GHEES was just under the minimum number of points I would want to score here to stay close to Cecilia. And LO was a pretty awful leave. So I guess we're being "strategic" and opening the board for a comeback. Hooray. I only want to do this type of thing in 1/4 games, not half of them. The man wants peace and quiet.
>Cecilia_Le: BEEINU 12I BE.UINE +22 87
#note Quite frustrated I was. I insta-challenged this because I decided right away that she was mixing up BIGUINE and BEGUILE. Cecilia had been playing a few too many phonies this tournament, I assumed her word knowledge was rusted up because of this. Still, as we can obviously tell, I haven't yet developed a reasonable vocabulary for this game. I'm sure I've seen BEGUINE before, especially since it's in the definition of BIGUINE+. This challenge most definitely cost me the game and ruined much of the chances I had to win or finish in the top 3. A wrong instachallenge. I challenged very softly, so Cecilia thought I was exchanging 7 until I got up and she looked at me. That's how surprised anyone should be when a 1950-rated played instachallenges a top 6000 7-letter word without an anagram.

#note Perhaps I should have tacked on the ES for 4 points here, even though it gives much more back. Gotta make something happen. Better players like Cesar would have played WIZES and opened up two scoring spots while behind 100 points. That's the reason he put an L at A12 against Julia Bogle. Had she seen any bingo besides her triple-triple of BUME(L)IaS, he would have hit her with HERA(L)DIC for 176.

#note thx for opening the top left, please reopen the bottom next turn. Tilted.
>Joshua_Sokol: EEELOSS 13H EELS +21 89
#note (R)EELS is one more but it blocks more. I needed 4 bingos to win this one. I could feel it.
>Cecilia_Le: AQRT F6 TRA.Q +36 218
>Joshua_Sokol: EEIINOS 11C I.E +6 95
#note If I play (R)I(V)E 7F, I can hit columns J, E, N, C as well as row 14. If I play I(R)E, I can hit columns B (and then A and C later), C, J and N, as well as row 14. The difference I saw between the two options was that more 7s would seem to play after I(R)E, as I don't need to end my word with a specific tile (S or N) or be able to overlap EELS and underlap INARABLE perfectly. And I can draw an 8 to the R in VENOMERS after IRE, which is good for the board. Regardless, I should not play J8 I(R)E or N5 OI, as they do not keep enough lanes open to withstand possible defense.
>Cecilia_Le: ?BDEFOR N2 FORBaDE +84 302
#note FoRBODE scores 7 more because it places the O on a triple letter score instead of the blank. The O scores 9 in total whereas it only scores 2 after FORBADE
>Joshua_Sokol: CEINOSW M2 OW +25 120
#note not COW because I need around 12 bingos to win this game, not 6 extra points.
>Cecilia_Le: EJT 1K JET +17 319
>Joshua_Sokol: ACEINOS 14C ACINOSE +68 188
#note I did it guys! Unfortunately if I play this on column C, I cut off the possibility of playing on column A and C later, which ruined my plan of playing I(R)E. So I have to play it here and open some dangerous stuff on row 15.
>Cecilia_Le: DFGIS 15I FIG +16 335
#note first put down DIFS at 15E, then realizing she couldn't play that. The moment when your opponent is very close to playing a phony 2 is one of the most interesting of Scrabble moments.
>Joshua_Sokol: ADILTUU 8B UD. +4 192
#note I couldn't even come up with a plausible-sounding word using all 7 of these tiles. L3 TULADI is the least mediocre-looking option here, until you remember that I need a friggin miracle to win this one. Such as her missing L(UDO) and having no vowels to go with her K. I also know she has a D and an S, so I thought I was protecting myself spread-wise with this play.
But I didn't think that much about this play. This was the first game of the afternoon and they had run out of scoresheets, so I had written down my tracking. The K was on the bottom of my scoresheet with JQXZ, whereas with a regular scoresheet, it's usually near the middle. I looked for the K and J on my scoresheet and saw neither, assuming they had then both been played already. I thought I had one of the two remaining L-hooks for this word. This ended up costing me a lot of spread.

>Joshua_Sokol: AIILRTU F13 U.I +3 195
#note gotta go with TRI(JET) now. I had momentarily forgotten about TRIJET, as UD(O) was also a fish for an M for MULTI(JET). I see DAD as a play that could easily indicate Cecilia has a K, but I didn't look into it enough to realize the K was still unseen. She had it and had no vowels to go with it. She thought she had the only letter to go there, not realizing LUDO had been newly added.
>Cecilia_Le: AKNT A5 TANK +51 396
#note I hated myself after this play. I knew that somehow, making my own tracking sheet would screw me over.
>Joshua_Sokol: AEIILRT N12 .AIL +19 214
#note TRIJET again. TRIJET again. TRIJET again.
>Cecilia_Le: ATX B4 TAX +53 449
>Joshua_Sokol: EIMNRTU C5 NER. +19 233
#note again. And I go for MULTIJET again. How could I be so stupid? I immediately saw the possibility of extending JET to the easiest TRI(JET) when she played JET. And I was too focused on MULTIJET now that I did draw the M after throwing away my L. So I went for one last fish.
