>Robin_Levin: HMO I7 OHM +34 34
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AAEGSW J1 ASsWAGE +76 96
#note Things were starting to look up for me in terms of getting the first bingo down, but I completely spaced out on the fact that ASSWAGE can hook both plays on the board! I honestly should have gotten 3x3'ed on after this awful mistake.
>Robin_Levin: KO 1H OK. +21 55
>Joshua_Sokol: ?DEFLRS 5E FeDER.LS +94 190
#note but instead I almost was able to 3x3 myself.
>Robin_Levin: DOY 10F YOD +27 82
>Joshua_Sokol: ABNRSTV F4 V.RB +10 200
>Robin_Levin: EILX 11D ILEX +36 118
#note now at this point, I'm just coasting. There seems to be nothing that can stop me. But I'm just drawing so well and it's tilt-inducing, because I am out of contention for what seems to be the top 3. I am feeling like it's as usual too little too late.
>Joshua_Sokol: AANNRST 12D NAN +18 218
#note now as you can see I knew she had drawn the X after YOD. It was obvious. I'm reading Robin like a book.
>Robin_Levin: ANUU L1 UNAU. +12 130
>Joshua_Sokol: ACIRSTU H3 CU. +6 224
#note In another lifetime I would have found my bingo here, but I had another gut feeling that this was the right play. 8A RICTUS or CITRUS or CAURIS don't block her imminent bingo
>Robin_Levin: ADEGILT M1 TAG +18 148
#note Not sure this was her bingo but it was something like this. She wondered after the game if I was reading her mind.
>Joshua_Sokol: AIRSTTW N2 WAIT +30 254
#note I often get premonitions in games, but they are hard to decipher. It's not like I can see her tiles, but I know she has something incoming that I want to block. I just don't know if I can block it. In this case I could not, but N1 AW or N2 WAITS would have done as much as I could hope for.
Quackle likes keeping my I here ever so slightly. Actually no, that doesn't make sense, WART wins a sim not because of the better leave but because of the lesser threat I am creating on column O. WATT, WAT, WART and WAIT are super close
>Robin_Levin: DEEILNO O5 ELOINED +76 224
>Joshua_Sokol: IORRSTV 10L RIV. +15 269
#note I was angry that I didn't muster up the courage to play something worse for my own sake last turn but better to prevent against what happened, but otherwise I felt like I was making very enlightened decisions in this game, definitely riding the exploitation train. This sims 3 points higher than the more intuitive ROV(E) in the same spot.
>Robin_Levin: EF 9G F..E +30 254
>Joshua_Sokol: EINORST C5 ORIENTS +71 340
#note I saw that she had DEE on her rack last turn, so I know she has DE. What occurs on this turn is incredible and despite the result, really ignites my passion for Scrabble. Now I'm ahead only 15 points, but I've finally drawn into a bingo after being 36%, 40%, 40%, 26% and 30% to do so in my past 5 turns. Obviously I am totally outdrawing Robin regardless, my 2nd and 3rd play demonstrating just that. But a lot of thought was put into this move.
What I am worried about here? If I leave the left side alone and play a bingo elsewhere, I am worried about freak plays from A8 such as PRIZES for 90, but also I am worried that Robin will make a scoring play and hit a bingo hooking S(ILEX).
If I play at C5, I can play ORIENTS or NORITES for 71. NORITES opens two hotspots, which is normally something I would want to do here, except that it seems like more huge snapbacks are possible after putting the I at C8 than after putting the E there.
CHEZ, GEEZ, OYEZ, PREZ, HEEZE and PIEZO with an E, BAIZA, BAIZE, MAIZE, SEIZA, SEIZE, PRIZE, GRIZ, PHIZ and QUIZ play through an I. Given my knowledge that she has an E, it seems fairly equally likely that she will hit me in that spot whether I play ORIENTS or NORITES. But what really tipped the scales for me in favor of ORIENTS was the possibility of QUIZ, which is by far the most devastating worst case scenario for me. But she doesn't have QU already, otherwise she would have played F(I)QUE last turn.
I saw INT(R)ORSE through the R, but missed IRONIEST through the I in RIVE. That is definitely the play. It doesn't open the board up for forking like INTRORSE does, and scores 2 more points. I had resigned myself to the fact that something incredibly unfortunate was due to happen to me in this game, and I didn't manage to untie myself from this curse. I definitely need to play IRONIEST here and not worry about possibilites that require Robin to have more specific tiles than HEZE. I absolutely knew she was going to have HE(E)ZE here but I shook off that impossible certainty and made the wrong play.
>Robin_Levin: EEHZ 8A HE.ZE +81 335
>Joshua_Sokol: IMNOOTU 13A MOUNT +20 360
#note I was totally beside myself at this point. So many tiles were left and so much bad could happen here. I freaked out and played this, fully expecting to draw the Q and lose. There are many better plays but I couldn't see one of them.
>Robin_Levin: AALPY B2 PLAYA +33 368
>Joshua_Sokol: CIIOPTT A11 CO.PT +36 396
#note I thought of I(M)PI and this, and realized I was now in a much better position than I was last turn with tempo on my side. I didn't however see 14B IT, which is the play I should make if I think the Q is still in the bag. IMPI seems slightly better than this based on a simulation, but I don't know if that holds true in reality. IT is a very good play, because it keeps CO(M)PT for next turn. But whatever, I lost. I knew I lost.
>Robin_Levin: ADGO A1 GOAD +35 403
