>Paul_Holser: FORTY 8D FORTY +30 30
>Jim_Burlant: ?EIIKOS 7H OIK +13 13
#note An annoying rack - it looks like a bingo is there, but there isn't. I chose this over KIR F6 for two reasons: first, it unloads the extra vowel; secondly, it sets up my S for a K column hook. This is best.
>Paul_Holser: AE 8J AE +8 38
>Jim_Burlant: ?CEISTT E4 STEn.TIC +86 99
#note Any number of bingoes available - D8 FITCHETS, 6B CUTTIES/CATTIES, 6C TRISECT, etc. All that said, this is best. 69% to win in a short sim, but not for long:
>Paul_Holser: AADEILR 4E .ALARIED +70 108
#note Only bingo.
>Jim_Burlant: ADJOPTT H1 JOT. +33 132
#note You'd think this is the no-brainer best play. While this does top a sim, JAPED 6B is almost indistinguishable atop the sim. Maybe it's worth leaving the triple open for 2 extra points? Seriously? Anyway - I'd make this play again.
>Paul_Holser: AHNW 3J HWAN +33 141
>Jim_Burlant: ABDIPTT 2L DIPT +21 153
#note My first three turns were correct, but this was the first of several spots where I felt I misplayed this game. Sure enough, a look at the kibbitzer confirms it. I saw the A, G, and C hooks on HI but whiffed on P(HI). PAT 2J or PADI 2J look best. This is poor. If I had this one to do again, PAT would have been the play.
>Paul_Holser: NOR 5K NOR +24 165
>Jim_Burlant: AABBCIT O1 A.TIC +24 177
#note Another play I was less than thrilled with. Scorewise, this is the best play I have but the leave is awful. Quackle says 6B BABE (whidh I rejected) was the play.
>Paul_Holser: AEGINPR 11E .APERING +76 241
>Jim_Burlant: ?ABBEIO 10I OBA +25 202
#note Right idea, wrong execution. Not sure why I didn't play OBIA or ABO here.
>Paul_Holser: EIZ O1 .....IZE +57 298
>Jim_Burlant: ?BEIINO N8 NIOBItE +72 274
#note At least I get this right. Only bingo but I've played my way down to 18% winning chances.
>Paul_Holser: AQU M12 QUA +39 337
#note He took a long time here. If he wanted to muck up easy plays at 15L (e.g., WASH), he sure did just that. It was certainly enough to cause me big problems.
>Jim_Burlant: DFGNOSY F10 F.Y +30 304
#note Prior to his play of QUA I had planned on playing DONSY 15K and following it up with a probable FAG 10F. Now I felt I had no choice. Q says I should play FAG to set up DONSY on row 13. That said the difference between my first few options is noise; any of them (FAY, FAG, 10B GONIF) are as good as any other.
>Paul_Holser: AEMNX 6A AXEM.N +33 370
>Jim_Burlant: DEGNOOS 6I GO +17 321
#note I struggled on this turn. Seeing that I possessed both D and G to potentially back-hook QUA, I didn't look for plays that played off both letters. I therefore ruled out GOD 6I and never looked for GOONDA A1. Further complicating things was the tile pool: not only is it 5 or 6 consonants too heavy, but the only vowels in it are EEEEUUU. Don't know why I didn't think of GOY, though. GOO 7H is probably best given what I'm trying to accomplish, since it outscores GO by 7 and gives me one more crack at the bag.
>Paul_Holser: MRW A5 W.RM +27 397
>Jim_Burlant: DDENOSV C3 DOV.N +20 341
#note Any number of much better plays here, namely VID 9M, 9L VOID. If I had it to do again, VID 9M would have been my choice. The consolation: my next draw rendered this turn moot.
>Paul_Holser: LUV F1 ULV. +9 406
>Jim_Burlant: DEEESUU 15J USED +20 361
#note No clue - just moving tiles to end the game.
>Paul_Holser: EGHLLRS 13B HELLS +26 432
>Jim_Burlant: EEESU 14B ES +16 377
#note Scores 4 more at O11
>Paul_Holser: GR H11 .RG +5 437
>Paul_Holser: (EEU) +6 443
#note Paul had been magnanimous during post-mortem, but analysis confirmed my hunches: there were too many turns where I lost the plot. I was definitely outplayed here.
