I guess it's probably slightly more likely that I lose due to a 3x3 than due to multiple bingos on Paul's end, but I really didn't see another way of ensuring that the (BAH)T hook could be blocked. I liked this route better. In one turn I will be able to know whether or not I am almost definitely winning this game.
