#note Best play.
>Karen_Richards: DOWY F6 WO.DY +28 28
>Mina: EEEOPRY 6F .EEPY +21 99
#note Best play.
>Karen_Richards: CENO J2 CONE. +16 44
>Mina: ABCELOR 3I C.BRA +24 123
#note Wow, missed the sexy common-word bingo ALBACORE. Didn't know next-best H1 ECBOL(E). Words are so fun!
>Karen_Richards: DFNO E10 FOND +24 68
>Mina: EHLLORU L1 HU.L +22 145
#note Third best. Quackle prefers B2 HULLOE(S) or C3 HULLO(A), which keep swapping places for best. HULLOE(S) scores two points more than I did and keeps R whereas I kept ELOR; I don't think that's terribly better. HULLO(A) scores two points less than I did and keeps ER, which is okayish. But isn't ELOR a fine leave? Turned out to be, anyway.
>Karen_Richards: HOT 2J .O.TH +26 94
>Mina: AEGILOR B8 .ERAGLIO +72 217
#note Oops, 12A GERA(N)IOL would have scored two points more and not set up a triple-triple. Even GA(S)OLIER and GIRA(S)OLE rank as superior to my play, despite scoring less, because they don't open the trip-trip. Pure mistake.
>Karen_Richards: ?EEILTT 15A T.ILETEd +122 216
#note And that is why defense actually matters, Mina!!!!!!
>Mina: ADFINTU 12D U.FIT +18 235
#note Third best, after A9 FUD for 17 leaving AINT and A9 TUFA for 21 leaving DIN. I would never have thought to play in a location like A9, with its lack of premium squares. Quackle is teaching me to start looking in places like that.
>Karen_Richards: UV C6 UV. +10 226
>Mina: ABDKNTZ 14H ADZ +34 269
#note Second-best play after 14G BANK, which scores only 25 instead of 34 like I did, but keeps DTZ instead of BKNT like I did. I really don't know how I could possibly make that determination over the board, of when to accept a lower score (and how much lower?) for a better leave (and how much better?).

>Karen_Richards: IMS (challenge) +5 307
>Mina: AABKNTW D3 BAWN +20 289
>Mina: AEJKOST (challenge) +5 294
#note Now I'm in hot water. Wasn't behind after her triple-triple, but am behind now. Ugh I missed my best play of 12J B(A)WK for 26 leaving AANT, I guess because I was focused on breaking up my duplicate A! BAWN is third best after L11 AW, although I would think BAWN is way better than AW, leave-wise (and only two points less).
>Karen_Richards: IMS L12 MIS +34 341
#note Ugh, it's no fun when people telegraph that they have another S.
>Mina: AEJKOST 15K .OJAK +58 352
#note By far the best play. Good job for once, Mina.
>Karen_Richards: GIM M11 MIG +23 364
>Mina: DEIRSTX 1N EX +32 384
#note Whoops, only sixth best. The best play was F12 (F)IX(T) for 33 leaving DERST, which is a spot I wouldn't have seen, as it's not your typical "X word in both directions" spot. Second best was G11 T(I)X for only 18 because DEIRS is so much stronger a leave than mine. Basic fail on my part since of course I know the synergy of DEIRST, I just figured a score of 32 was worth breaking it up for.
>Karen_Richards: AGN 13A G.AN. +16 380
>Mina: DIIRRST 3B RI. +10 394
#note My play doesn't appear among the top fifteen choices, but I played it for two reasons: to break up my duplicates and to open up a second bingo lane. Four tiles are in the bag before my play, and four E's are unseen, so I figure I'm close to a bingo.
Quackle favors E2 RID for 11, leaving IRST, or N10 RID for 17. E2 RID sets up a bingo along row 1, whereas N10 RID is terrible in my opinion because it only yields one (easy) bingo lane total; I think you always want to have two, in case one gets taken.
>Karen_Richards: Q C2 Q. +11 391
#note I actually forget which of the two available 11-point Q plays she made. I guess in future, now that I've started quackling, I need to record play *locations* on my scoresheet.
>Mina: DEIIRST A1 TIDIERS +84 478
>Mina: UNKNOWN (challenge) +5 483
#note Moment of truth, and here is where I make A HUGE WHOPPING AMATEUR ERROR. I'm so focused on taking the bingo lane I just made, that I forget it would be infinitely wiser to take the lower-scoring bingo lane in column N instead, because *HELLOOOO* the unseen tiles are EEENOPST so she doesn't hold any of the front hooks to -RIB!!!!!!
(Valuation of N6 DITSIER is 39.8, valuation of A1 TIDIERS is 4.6, and strikingly, valuation of the other N-column bingos is -25 or worse because they make the triple lane too accessible.)
Jesus christ, it is only through Quackling that I discover that this kind of mistake is possible. I had no concept of it before and now I realize, I must have done this many times in the past eight years.
>Karen_Richards: EENOPST N5 PENTOSE +67 458
#note (POSTEEN scored the most.) I am so lucky I didn't lose.
