>Tim_Mason: ACKLN 8H CLANK +32 32
>Mina: EEGNOTW L8 .ETONE +20 20
#note I could tell full well that I was making a terrible play (using up good letters, keeping bad leave). Need to stop making plays like this if I wanna break 1700. Quackle prefers 9I OWE for 17 leaving EGNT. (-9.5) If I were bent on taking the K lane, fourth-best is KNOWE, which I didn't knowe.
>Tim_Mason: ACDG 13I CAG.D +24 56
>Mina: DEGSTVW 11K V.WED +24 44
#note Paying the price for keeping GW. Sixth-best play. Quackle favors 11K G(O)WD for 18 leaving ESTV. At first glance I don't like sacrificing six points, despite superior leave, but GOWD makes sense since it sets up for -S plays on the triple lane.
>Tim_Mason: HIOT O11 .HOTI +39 95
>Mina: EGLLSTT J7 G.LT +7 51
#note Not among the fifteen choices -- ohh, because it's phony!!! Quackle recommends J12 L(A)G for 8 leaving ELSTT. Compared to that, I have sacrificed one point but have a stronger leave (if GALT* weren't phony, its valuation is second-best). Note that bingo lanes are few, though, and LAG sets up SLAG, which is really smart. Only with Quackle am I learning that LAG is smart enough to justify keeping a duplicate T and a four-to-one consonant-to-vowel ratio!
>Tim_Mason: UX 14J XU +53 148
>Mina: ELOSSTU 15E TOUSLES +85 136
#note Nice, didn't see TOUSLES' two common-word anagrams. Fortunately, Quackle says TOUSLES is best. SOLUTES hangs an S out there, but I don't see why LOTUSES' valuation is half a point below TOUSLES, they seem strategically equivalent to me.
>Tim_Mason: IQ K6 QI. +15 163
>Mina: EEEIPRV 8H .....IER +42 178
>Mina: EEIILPV (challenge) +5 183
#note Crapppp, I missed a common-word bingo!!!! Short of playing PER(C)EIVE, Quackle prefers 14C VEEP for 27, leaving EIR. My first reaction is, is it really worth sacrificing fifteen points for a leave that's that much better?! But then I see that VEEP also prevents monster plays...like what Tim played next, ugh!!!
>Tim_Mason: AOZ 14E AZO +67 230
#note Too distracted by the stylishness of CLANKIER to see the better plays, I pay the price.
>Mina: EEIILPV O4 VIPE. +14 197
#note Here's another one of those times where I could tell I was making a bad play, one that doesn't show up among the fifteen choices. Recommended are D11 EVIL or VEIL. I totally did not see the L(AZO) hook at all. Lost about ten equity points.
>Tim_Mason: DEHR 13C HERD +32 262
>Mina: AABEILO 10L .AB +26 223
#note An extremely close second best, just about tied with 12K A(N)E, which scores seven points less but keeps more than one consonant and is wayyyyy sexier (hello, tenth cranial nerve!).
>Tim_Mason: AINO L3 NAOI +19 281
>Mina: AEIILOT M1 AIOLI +18 241
#note Best play. M3 OI is a surprisingly close second; I wouldn't have thought it worth sacrificing eight points to keep AEILT.
>Tim_Mason: EFR 1L F.RE +33 314
#note Ugh but then AIOLI wouldn't have set *this* up.
>Mina: BDENNPT 12B PEND +28 269
#note Quackle prefers 12B BEND. I knew that B was a worse tile to keep than P (-8.5) but I did it because I wanted to set up an S- hook for my comeback. Of ***course*** he took the S- hook instantly. This is an example of strategic stupidity on my part.
>Tim_Mason: AEGIMRS A6 MAIGRES +92 406
>Tim_Mason: ANWY (challenge) +5 411
#note A trio I'll probably learn before my next tourney: MAIGRES MIRAGES IMAGERS. Lesson: don't set up a great lane for yourself if there isn't a similarly great lane already on the board.
>Mina: ABEFNRT B2 BRANE +24 293
>Mina: ?FIRSTT (challenge) +5 298
#note 13th best but then again I pumped an extra five points out of it. Preferred is B5 BANT for 18 leaving EFR, for a win percentage of 0.31%. The highest equity plays are B2 BARNET (didn't know) or BANTER for 28. Jim Kramer had commented on one of my fb posts that if you know you can't win, you should play strictly for equity?
>Tim_Mason: ANWY 4A W.NY +28 439
>Mina: ?FIRSTT 7N F. +10 308
#note OH DEAR GOD DUMBEST MISTAKE IMAGINABLE, I missed the common word bingo 3D FITTeRS because I didn't consider the FY# hook. >:^(

(Quackle recommends 3B (R)IFTS instead of bingoing, leaving RT? to try for an eight through my own T. No thanks.)
>Tim_Mason: JO A1 JO +31 470
>Mina: ?IRSTTY C6 TRY +12 320
#note Christ god, I missed *another* common-word bingo, H4 STRI(C)TlY. Why Mina why why why. -82.8
>Tim_Mason: ?AEMOUU 12J sA.E +30 500
#note And Tim takes that really sexy (V)A(GUS) play mentioned earlier.
>Mina: ?IST 5D aITS +10 330
#note I even miss my best outplay of 3B (R)IoTS or RIfTS. Oh Mina, you can't play in the big leagues if you play like this.
>Mina: (MOUU) +12 342
