#note was feeling pretty good about this game about now! Keeping the J for 3L plays making J(UKE). Huge scores I'm getting for my heavy tiles

#note I didn't want to keep all consonants here, since it seemed like the worst case scenario that I would no longer be able to outrun a bingo with no vowel, but I still played this, because it had such good defensive merits. It blocks 7s on row 6 and on row 7 and scores reasonably well. But I should really not part with my only vowel here. I can outrun his bingo as long as I keep a vowel. K9 W(U)D was supposed to be my final decision.

>Joshua_Sokol: DMNNPST K9 M.D +20 367
#note Noe I'm faced with a really tough decision. I need to make the play that outruns a bingo as best as I could.
I knew that there was more of a benefit in playing 3 tiles instead of 2 here, just for the sake of preventing him from fishing and maximizing my chances at drawing a vowel. But I also saw that my plays with 3 tiles either scored nothing (O7 D(A)MP scores 9), or they used up my S, which is a very good tile for scoring. If I draw an I, a likely eventuality if Michael indeed has a bingo next turn, I can play C4 SIN for 30 points, which may be enough to win. But if I play M(U)D at K9, and draw an I, I can play PSI for 34 in the same spot, which blocks the W in case he fishes for a bingo there, and also outruns a lot of stuff in the endgame after a bingo to the C in CHAISES.
Unbelievably, I was deciding between M(U)D and P(OE)TS, completely spacing out on P(OE)MS, which scores 26 points, tipping the scales enough in my favor to merit shetting my S. P(OE)M even is a better option than M(U)D is. I totally blew this one.

#note I was almost certain this was good, but I couldn't win. If I had drawn the I and another vowel, I still would have eked it out, I think.
>Joshua_Sokol: NNOPRST - +0 367
#note Michael was worried I would try to pluralize THALAMIC, since he thought that was good. It's not, and I think he would have challenged, realizing he loses if he lets it stay.
I knew I was challenging a normal English word, don't start
