#note Back-to-back Boston Area players! Yay.
I had been writing down comments on my scoresheets about stuff I was distracted by during games. This time, I had been watching Alec Sjoholm play Mack, and he had just missed OVERWILY with a blank. He had been doing well, so this sort of bothered me. Apparently he saw it but was unsure!
>Seth_Lipkin: HMNY G8 HYMN +30 30
>Joshua_Sokol: AEIPRST 11D PAI.TERS +90 96
#note just barely preferred throwing the S out there and create more medium-risk scoring spots from the T and from 12A. I could play PINASTER and PANTRIES. PANTRIES seemed worse just because it also gave an E and an I to play through as well as the S. PINASTER takes an S, and I felt like I didn't want to leave that available. The board seemed more controllable after PAINTERS

>Joshua_Sokol: BENOORU H11 .URBO +24 120
#note So not only did I miss BURNOO(S)E here, but I also missed ROUB(L)E A8 and I8 OBO(E), both decent plays.

#note Attempting to control this board. This is sort of paranoid and useless
>Seth_Lipkin: JOW F6 JOW +38 130
>Joshua_Sokol: DILNNOT 13B DINT +27 170
#note INDOLENT plays in two spots for 72 points apiece. My tunnel vision continues to affect me. I didn't look for a bingo here, but I shouldn't have to. I should see INDOLENT instantly.
>Seth_Lipkin: DEOU K3 DOU.E +16 146
>Joshua_Sokol: EELNOPV 15J ELEVON +32 202
#note well, this miss wasn't as depressing, but I didn't even see the bingo on my rack. Had I seen ENVELOP, B5 ENVELOP(ED) was just one step away. How many gifts am I going to get?

#note I considered 8J GRR, hooking (DOUCE)R, and a variety of exchanges. Despite leaving FPST, a pretty unbalanced group of tiles, GRR does best in a simulation, as it blocks a lot of possible opening plays and bingos Seth might have. PRS also does better to keep than RS. RST is not far behind. I preferred keeping only two consonants here. 3K (DA)FT is also an option, as it doesn't take an S and scores as much as I can hope to score while controlling the top right quadrant to prevent future vertical bingos from playing down from column O and N after an almost inevitable (DOUCE)R play in the next few turns.

>Joshua_Sokol: GORSSYZ 8J GROSZY +69 271
#note To respond to my earlier question about how many breaks I was going to get this game, the answer is probably infinite.

>Joshua_Sokol: AEIMRSU 10I MAUSIER +73 344
#note I would like to get rid of the threats he has just created, but UREMIAS at C1 is not a good play. After a bingo on my part Seth can only hope to win with either two big bingos of his own or a triple-triple bingo. UREMIAS gives him the latter opportunity. Both blanks are still unseen, and that drastically increases the chances of him hitting that 3x3.
>Seth_Lipkin: AEK 9M KEA +42 270
#note Although this was unexpected, and a beautiful fit. Now Seth is almost within fighting distance, but I only have one part of the board to deal with, as KEA blocks the Y at O8 and other marginal places to hit a bingo.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?EIPTVW M1 PEW +35 379
#note Instead of addressing the ever-looming threat on columns C and A, I decide it's OK to just keep scoring, as I'll maintain an 100-point lead with the blank in hand. Quackle is showing some very bizarre results here. It prefers PoW at M3 for the same score as PEW, throwing away the blank, likely because there are no big overlapping plays that Seth can hit on column N. It likes N12 VET(O) for 12 points keeping WIP?, which I just don't get at all. It prefers M3 WoP to PEW, I guess for the same reason as it prefers PoW. It likes PEWIT at C3, which gives Seth a golden opportunity to hit his bingo now or never, but that's because it doesn't realize the defense I will play next turn if Seth doesn't hit me, and even if he does. I am doing fine after this play, and I still see no reason to play something else. The most interesting result is 3G VIEW(DA)Ta coming up on top. That leaves only 3 tiles in the bag, pushing the game as much as I can, but Seth can make 1, 2 or 3-tile setups atop the IEW in VIEWDATA to give himself a new spot to bingo, so that's just not a good idea in my opinion. I can't block everything, so I'd rather block nothing and see what Seth attempts to do, because there's no real way for him to give himself somewhere else to go. The only possibility is that he plays from C1, simultaneously opening lanes on rows 1-4 while leaving the possibility of a bingo coming down on column A, which can begin its course as low down as A4. I can't reasonably block all of that unless I play an out-bingo of my own, the bag now being empty. Interesting!

#note almost missed another easy 8, since again it just wasn't my mindset to be looking for a bingo at this time.
