>Tasha_Asberry: BCRU 8G CURB +16 16
>Jim_Burlant: EEIMTUZ J6 ZE.U +35 35
#note Nothing like an easy rack to get me into the flow.
>Tasha_Asberry: CRVY H7 C.RVY +13 29
>Jim_Burlant: ?EIMNRT 6B MINTERs +79 114
#note And I finally find the CURVY front hook! :-) Other options include 11G TYRAMINE, 11A MISENTRY and 11A ENORMITY. This is best.
>Tasha_Asberry: AEEILRS E5 A.ELIERS +82 111
>Jim_Burlant: HILORTW 8A WHOR. +36 150
#note With WORTHILY blocked, there are a lots of strong plays, but this is clearly best of a good lot. Just shy of 61% to win. WHIRL 8A also worth consideration.
>Tasha_Asberry: ILOU F2 LOUI. +9 120
>Jim_Burlant: AEGIILT K3 GLIA +21 171
#note Without an 8 (LITIGATE and LIGATIVE are the only 8's in this rack), the play is to unload the dreaded N-less G and take out the ZA hook. Statically, 11H YAGI is also good, but it gives up too many points as well as board position to this play. A sim agrees - past 500 iterations GLIA becomes the clear winner. K2 TELIA is also a good choice.
>Tasha_Asberry: BOO D10 BOO +20 140
>Jim_Burlant: EGIJNNT 3B JING. +26 197
#note All of my worthwhile options (13B JET, 3C JETON, and JINGO) score 26 points, so it came down to board position and leave. The only thing that came close to a source of puzzlement: Should I keep the G for ZAG hooks? Or should I leave myself the strongest bingo building leave? I opted for the latter, which is why I chose JINGO. The duck feels I should play 3C JETON and risk the S hook from H1, and it feels this wins roughly 3/4% less often than JETON. JINGO sims roughly 2 points down. I'd do this again given the choice; YMMV.
>Tasha_Asberry: ADNO 4A DONA +29 169
>Jim_Burlant: EINRTTU K9 NUTTIER +66 263
#note Only bingo - just shy of 90% to win in a short sim.
>Tasha_Asberry: AEEFGS 15I SE.FAGE +45 214
#note Ouch!
>Jim_Burlant: AAAEITT 4I TA.A +8 271
#note What an awful draw! You'd be hard-pressed to find a non-exchanging position where every choice is this weak. Quackle likes row 3 plays (AGATE, AGITA); I don't, as they only score 12 and set up a juicy S hook down the O column. AWAIT down the A column for 8? No thanks, not with the F unseen for huge 5's at B10. TALA leaves me vowel heavy, but it was the only thing I saw that didn't open up something truly reckless. Without an S or blank she won't be able to bingo down the M column. Just the same, TALA unloads two of my 3 A's and one of my T's with only two I's unseen, so IMO it's worth the risk to keep the I. 75% to win.
>Tasha_Asberry: EEP 14I EP.E +29 243
>Jim_Burlant: AEITTWY 12I WI.TY +22 293
#note I was overly paranoid about plays at N10 so I wanted to shut those down. The duck says that in this position, the best defense is a strong offense: scoring 35 with TYE F9 looks good (or, maybe better, F10 YA since there are only 2 E's left) given that I don't have any lock-down defensive plays available. Given how the game progressed, in hindsight I'm glad I didn't part with my E. Probably YA if I had this turn to do over.
>Tasha_Asberry: FI 9B IF +23 266
>Jim_Burlant: ADEOQTX 13M OX +28 321
#note Prior to her play of IF, I had expected to autopilot QAT 13B to kill the southwest. But her play of IF made me think she was close to something down the O column. I felt that I might not have another turn to wait to defend, so the Q had to wait. This isn't airtight, but it does limit her to -OSE, -ONE, etc. bingos. It's probably the best defensive play I have available. I'd make this play again.
>Tasha_Asberry: DEE F10 DEE +24 290
>Jim_Burlant: AADEPQT 13B QAT +30 351
#note Leery about the potential comeback plays this gives up if she's got the case I, but I don't have a choice. This game is too close for me to play QAT I2 for 13 points when I have the option to play for 30. This wins 77% in a short sim, but that's about to change:
>Tasha_Asberry: IMV 14A VIM +42 332
#note Ouch!
>Jim_Burlant: ADDEHPS L6 PADS +26 377
#note I can block the M column, and my only O column block scores 3 points and leaves a wide open M column where bingoes like SOLANiN will win the game for her. I put this down both to maximize score and block 7s hooking TALA; if she could find something down the O column, that's life, since I can't block both.
>Tasha_Asberry: ?ALNNOS 15B SALON +23 355
#note And she misses ANNULOSE for the win. My Jedi mind tricks worked yet again!
>Jim_Burlant: DEHKO O12 HOK. +25 402
>Tasha_Asberry: ?N 10A uN +11 366
