>Jim: EELPTUV 8G LUV +12 12
#note I don't like keeping duplicated E's to start but this rack doesn't give me much choice. This is best.
>Joey: DDEGRRT H6 TR.DGED +12 12
#note I could really uglify the board with DRUG. Didn't feel like having that type of game.
>Jim: EEENOPT I7 E.E +15 27
#note Hmmm. I wasn't sure about this choice early on but didn't see anything else I liked. Q says I had more or less the right idea but that I should have scored 6 more and played PEEVE. I don't know if I like burning all my E's off like that. The only plays that would have prevented the his next play would have been PENTODE 12C and 12C OPENED, which sim a little bit down on this. PEEVE wins 52.25% and this wins 51.6 at an equity deficit of not quite 2 points.
>Joey: ADIJNRS 11E INJ.RAS +56 68
>Jim: EGNOPTW 10J POW +26 53
#note Clearly best.
>Joey: DHINPQR J6 QI +34 102
>Jim: EGILNOT K4 GLINT +27 80
#note Mistake #1. I rejected JOG because I didn't have an S. I rejected G11 JO as being too volatile. Thus, my thought process was that with the bingo not playing, I should make sure the board stays alive, turn 5 tiles, score 27, and take out the QI hook. In retrospect, less may be more here, and my thinking was wrong. JO wins a sim and as I look at it now, JO looks really strong. JO opens up row 13 for 7's ending in E, G, T, and Y, and I have INE/ING bingos back-hooking the Q. Given the current position, if he takes out QI possibilities, the unseen pool gives me a 70% chance of hitting a playable bingo drawing 1 tile. If he takes out JO, the unseen pool still bingos roughly 40% of the time. Definitely worth it to fish off the O here. While GLINT scores well and isn't horrendous, it blows the rack up (leaving much to chance when it's not necessary) and opens up plays to O8. JO wins 34%, and this wins 28, simming 13 points down.
>Joey: DHILNPR 8K .HRIP +42 144
>Jim: DEFHOTV 12J HEFT +31 111
#note Then again, DFHTV was my 5-tile draw, and I recall being annoyed that one of the counters was the first thing out of the bag. If it wasn't the F, my fish would not yielded a playable bingo. As for this position, it's either this or VOTED 12A. I'd rather unload more than one of the counters.
>Joey: ?CDEILN N4 InCL.NED +68 212
#note I wasn't positive of PANICLED, but certainly should have seen PENCILED.
>Jim: BDEOSVY O11 OBEYS +42 153
#note This is best, but it's bleak: I'm not quite 10% to win.
>Joey: ?EEFNOW N13 WOE +29 241
#note I forwent FOREWENT on purpose. Figured it could wait while I blocked this line and left a potential big F spot at O4.
>Jim: ADELMNV O1 VEND +35 188
#note No idea why I never saw VELD. VELD is a smidge better, but this wound up benefitting me.10.6% to win.
>Joey: ?BEFNSZ E10 F.B +8 249
>Jim: AEGLMOU D4 MOULAGE +77 265
#note Only bingo. Back in the game...for maybe 1/2 second.
>Joey: ?EINRSZ 4H ZIN.S +50 299
#note FRENZIES 15H is a nice option to have. ZINEB was a little too crazy for my taste.
>Jim: AACNOOU D12 ANOA +18 283
#note While I missed a slick play here, the draw isn't doing me any favors. MOULAGE win 43% in a short sim and Joey was only winning 53% after ZINGS. Best play for me here wins 23% and this choice wins just shy of 19. Best is TACO M12, which scores 35. Exchanging AAOOU may be slightly better than my choice but TACO is clearly best. I never saw it.
>Joey: ?AAERTY C13 AY +19 318
#note TEARAWAY! Maybe I'll luck into an odd scoring triple-triple.
>Jim: ACEEOOU G11 .EU +14 297
#note Again, I missed TACO/TOCO down in the southeast corner. All I saw here was COOEE E1, and I didn't want to part with both my E's while only one was unseen. With 22 available for COOEE and 14 for this I thought this was a compromise I could get away with. The duck says exchanging AEOOU is best and that I'm an idiot for playing through this. Probably so, but it wouldn't have mattered.
>Joey: ?AEIRTT 15G AIgRETT.. +77 395
#note Not quite a rare 119-point triple-triple here. REATTAIN is the only 8. RITZ is an interesting alternative.
>Jim: ACEIOOU 6F OU. +5 302
#note No clue, and I'm just shuffling tiles to end the game.
>Joey: AAMRRTX E3 RAX +42 437
>Jim: ACEIIKO C2 OKA +19 321
>Joey: AMORST M12 .OS. +26 463
#note Apparently we both forgot about CEILI.
>Jim: CEII 2M IC. +10 331
>Joey: AMRT B4 MART +16 479
#note 3 more points at C8. Not the best game I've played, but one of the better results of the tournament.
