>Chris_Kulig: ADELY 8H DELAY +26 26
>Jim_Burlant: ?AEGHLU 9C LAUGHEd +69 69
#note Had the annoying feeling I missed something better, which I did: HAULAGES scores 94 at K4 and L1 GAUCHELY scores 82.
>Chris_Kulig: DEEX 8A EXED +49 75
>Jim_Burlant: AFIINRW F3 WAIFIN. +22 91
#note Statically, Quackle hates this play, but I couldn't wrap my arms around WAIF 9K which gave back an S hook down the triple. By the time a sim hits 500 iterations, Quackle has warmed up to it. It thinks WAIF 9K is best, but this and F4 WIFING are in a dead heat for second. WAIF wins 49.6%, this wins 48.6 at roughly a 2-point equity deficit. For this game, this was the best play I could have made:
>Chris_Kulig: EEINRSU - +0 75
#note Chris lost his turn challenging WAIFING.
>Jim_Burlant: ?EELORS K5 OLE.StER +78 169
#note Bingo options out the wazoo. Other choices include RELEASOR K4, ESCAROLE K5, M3 LEPROSE, M2 AREOLES, etc. Once I saw this hit the 2x2 without creating vowel placement issues, I stopped looking - especially with my round 2 debacle against Bill Clark resonating in my mind, I didn't want to burn my time to the nub and screw myself. A sim confirms that this is best. Any of the double-doubles is as good as the other.
>Chris_Kulig: AHNORSS A7 S.NHORAS +62 137
#note Best bingo for Chris is a word that apparently neither of us knows: SHORANS scores 88 at M8.
>Jim_Burlant: EIIKMRT E5 KI +29 198
#note I saw this and didn't look past it. KIT scores 33 but I don't see the point in breaking up more of this promising rack. Even with 5 T's unseen, Quackle agrees this is best. 82% to win.
>Chris_Kulig: AQTU 12H QUA.T +48 185
>Jim_Burlant: EIMOORT M10 MOOT +27 225
#note Obviously the QUART back hooks have to be taken out, but there may have been better ways to handle this than MOOT. TOOM doesn't give up the S hook, nor does it allow him to hook the M or Y for huge points at N11. Of the other two options that out-sim TOOM (MOOT sims 4th best, winning roughly 0.4% than TOOM, the bronze medalist), one never occurred to me: M9 MOTOR for 35 (I don't see the need to break up the rack). The other is the sim winner MOO M11, which I rejected due to needlessly creating volatility. If I had this turn to do again, I'd play TOOM M10.
>Chris_Kulig: JLOW J2 JOWL +32 217
>Jim_Burlant: BDEIIRV 3I B.VID +28 253
#note BOVID is a good play, but I missed a better one: BEDRIVEL C2 scores 36. I never looked for it.
>Chris_Kulig: CE 7A .EC +25 242
>Jim_Burlant: EEINPRV 13G VINE +28 281
#note Best. The other option worth considering is simply fishing the V with VEX. Just shy of 69% to win.
>Chris_Kulig: AABMNT N5 BANTAM +30 272
>Jim_Burlant: AAEIPRT O4 PAREIA +49 330
>Jim_Burlant: AAEIPRT -- -49 281
#note He just blocked APTERIA...and now I return the waifing favor. I was convinced there was a 4-vowel 6 in here...whoops.
>Chris_Kulig: DGIINRS -DGII +0 272
#note And I catch a HUGE break - post-mortem, he told me he didn't have any vowels.
>Jim_Burlant: AAEIPRT O5 AREA +26 307
#note And I continue to bumble. I couldn't remember if the anagram of AREPA was spelled PAREA* or PARAE...and for some reason I thought AREPA doublng the P didn't reach from O1. Taking no chances,a sure 26 was still better than another lost turn so I put this down. Obviously PARAE O4 was the play.
>Chris_Kulig: DGR L1 GR.D +16 288
>Jim_Burlant: INPRRTU 1L .RIP +21 328
#note Despite myself I'm still in the driver's seat - 67% and chance to win. Next best play is SPURT 14A, which looks silly - why give him a clean shot at row 15?
>Chris_Kulig: CIT B13 TIC +16 304
>Jim_Burlant: EINORTU 15B .ORNUTE +30 358
#note Right idea, wrong execution. COENRUI keeps the consonant - given the draw I was about to have, I was going to regret having played it off:
>Chris_Kulig: SY 6I SY. +40 344
>Jim_Burlant: IIOOTUZ F11 ZOO +20 378
#note WTH is wrong with me that I don't recognize phony 3's? I should have swatted SYL* right off the board! Anyway - I spent forever here. My problem with ZIT was not being able to figure out how to unload all the vowels after he replied to it with ZEP. I eventually found the VINE front hook and figured out that this would let me go out in 3 and outrun him:
>Chris_Kulig: EEFGNP 11D FE. +30 374
>Jim_Burlant: IITU D11 .IT +12 390
>Chris_Kulig: EGNP G2 PEG +16 390
>Jim_Burlant: IU O1 .IU +5 395
>Jim_Burlant: (N) +2 397
