#player2 Joshua_Sokol Joshua Sokol
>Morris_Greenberg: ABEENRU 8F BEAU +12 12
#note Quackle prefers 8F UNBE.
>Joshua_Sokol: DEGNOTY G7 G.Y +13 13
#note Wiffle-waffled between many options here, such as 9E TODY, J8 TOY, J6 DOTY, J8 TOYED... I didn't like much of anything this turn, but I missed 9E GODET, which does a good job at reducing many of Morris' options and allowing me to score next turn. In the end I decided to go with this because it kept a good leave, the T hook for (BEAU)T, but most of all it reduced Morris' scoring options by a lot, far more than any other play I could have made. The result was slightly disappointing, but I'd make the same play again.
>Morris_Greenberg: EHIINOR 9G .EH +24 36
#note Quackle prefers 9I HI. It's really a stylistic choice though.
>Joshua_Sokol: CDENOTW J6 WOT +21 34
#note I like Morris' style! Complements mine, usually.
>Morris_Greenberg: DIINNOR K4 IRON +15 51
>Joshua_Sokol: ACDENOV 4H CAV.E +26 60
#note F4 VOCA(B) scores less, but gives nothing back and retains a better leave. I was happy with this over any of the other options, although he has one-point tiles and I just gave him the opportunity to dump them. COV(I)N seemed nominally worse because of the vowel/consonant ratio although ADE is one of the best 2V1C combinations you could keep. I think VOCA(B) is the play considering IRON, but maybe I'm wrong.
>Morris_Greenberg: ADDIINR H1 RAN.ID +27 78
#note DIA(C)ID.
>Joshua_Sokol: DENOOTY 3L YO +15 75
#note I overestimated how likely I was to hit a bingo after this play, and it just gives a lot back too. I should have gone with L6 TOYO which isn't that bad. Fatal misjudgment
>Morris_Greenberg: ??BDINS 2F Br.NDIeS +76 154
#note B(A)NDIeSt sims a bit higher, but I was not 100% on it.
Morris was unsure of BANDIEST here, but was fine with this positionally, because even though it didn't block the hooks on YO completely, it prevented me from opening the left side with a bingo or without
>Joshua_Sokol: DEGNORT L6 GOD +17 92
#note GOT has a similar chance of turning into a bingo, in comparison with GOD. It scores two fewer but also allows me to score more next turn and gives Morris 3 fewer points for a 4-letter word to the triple I am donating.
>Morris_Greenberg: AEEERSV 8L .EVA +24 178
>Joshua_Sokol: ACENRST O7 C.TERANS +61 153
>Morris_Greenberg: EEENRRS 14H SNEERER. +70 248
#note Josh: I held this out of frustration, but I knew it was good
>Joshua_Sokol: EILLWXZ N3 WILL +18 171
#note I was really rattled here, and thought that this was a good distraction in my attempt of drawing a T for ZE(S)T, in that I might hit FLEX, ILEX, FALX at O1. Except that would make IX* I have to just play WI(S)E H12 here.
>Morris_Greenberg: DHLOPTT O1 TOLD +36 284
#note I smelled a setup here. If we assume Josh kept EF, this sims better than everything.
>Joshua_Sokol: AEEFUXZ H12 FU.E +33 204
#note No 69 for me... I didn't keep EF, Morris, I drew it!!
Alternatively I can play 3B FUZEE for 38 and set up my X, but there is nothing I can hit to the S next turn that will score enough if indeed Morris blocks the Z. Also, this board is going nowhere. This was a two-move attempt to get some bingo lanes going. One to 15H and one at 11A-11G if I can play EX next turn at G12.
>Morris_Greenberg: EHIJOPT N10 HOPE. +39 323
>Joshua_Sokol: AENOSXZ G12 OX +39 243
#note Wish he just threw an I out there. I still have a chance now!
>Morris_Greenberg: AAIIJRT F6 JA. +31 354
>Joshua_Sokol: AEINSUZ L11 AZU.E +30 273
#note I have to score and hit a bingo next turn.
>Morris_Greenberg: AIIKMRT 12F K..TA +12 366
#note I sort of hated this move given all of the I's out. Quackle prefers the scoring route with IRK K9 as it doesn't hurt my score on future moves. However, this significantly lowers both the mean and standard deviation of Josh's next two moves, so I stand by this play.
>Joshua_Sokol: IIOPQST 3D POI +9 282
#note nope :( Hoping for a huge Q bingo here out of nowhere. If I don't open another lane he will block the E and I will lose. Don't think there's another play.
>Morris_Greenberg: IIIMMRU 4C MIM +26 392
>Joshua_Sokol: FINQSTT 7E T.. +4 286
#note K9 FIT possibly. He has to block QI for a one-tile play. This doesn't show up but I have a 1/8 shot at drawing SQUINT/STAG at D7, which he has to block with RA(J), which I guess is pretty simple. I was just frustrated.
>Morris_Greenberg: EGIILRU 1H .EI +8 400
#note Really bad endgame on my end. I completely forgot about adding the S to QAT 5B.
Josh: -25 or something. 5B RIG sets up (MI)LIEU which I have to see and block!
>Joshua_Sokol: AFINQST 5B QATS +45 331
>Morris_Greenberg: GILRU 15C LIGUR. +8 408
