#player2 Marlene Marlene
>Will: ?ALRTTU 8G TiTULAR +64 64
#note Chosen because I think of myself as a favorite to find TITULARLY if it should come up.
>Marlene: FUZ G6 FU.Z +27 27
>Will: EIINOPX F5 PIX +30 94
#note POXIER is certainly my usual type of play, but I felt like PIX just totally ruined a wide swath of the board, and if I could get to the other parts soon enough, I would have a commanding position.
>Marlene: III -III +0 27
>Will: AEEINOR E2 AERO +16 110
#note Of course, I abandoned my defensive plan pretty fast :) but AERO scores more than anything else, and 9K OE isn't really stopping anything here if she has an S. If I had had a rack where I could parallel TITULAR or play down to the R with something better than ONERIER, I would surely have done so. I definitely appreciate how strange it is to play PIX and then this.
>Marlene: EHIMNPS I1 SHIPMEN. +67 94
>Will: AEEINTW 1G WI.E +21 131
#note The S in that spot isn't a red alert blocking situation, and D4 AWE does look pretty good, but I'm fine with WISE too. AWE scores 3 more and bingos a few percentage points more often, probably because the EINT leave hits the A in TITULAR more often than the AENT leave will.
>Marlene: EGISTV M7 G.IVETS +28 122
>Will: ACEENTT K2 TENTAC.E +70 201
>Marlene: ACDL 11J LAC.D +16 138
>Will: AEEIINY D2 AYE +23 224
#note 3B AIYEE was tempting, as was 4I PINEY, but my play cuts off column D as a line and fouls up the best place to score points. I like it.
>Marlene: ?ADGIIL 12E DIGItAL +63 201
>Will: EEIINOO 4H O.I.E +16 240
>Marlene: BJO 11D JOB +34 235
>Will: EEHIINO C3 EH +28 268
#note EH vs HEINIE was a tough call, but I was content to keep grabbing at points on this ugly board.
>Marlene: FNOS H11 F.NOS +24 259
>Will: EIINOUV 15C OVINE. +13 281
#note I almost had this turn figured out, but didn't quite get there. I very nearly played 15B ENVIOUS, but balked at allowing potential damaging plays like QUAERE B10. However, I can play NIVEOUS instead in the same spot, putting the much less dangerous N at 15B and keeping the precious case I for N6 QI if I draw the Q. The trick to dismissing OVINES would've been to realize that the U really doesn't help the Q that much here - the QI spot at N6 is all I need. Additionally, making the BOVINES hook offers really easy points on a board bereft of opportunities.
>Marlene: BKO B13 KOB +30 289
#note Like so.
>Will: DINORUW M2 WUD +23 304
#note I got back on track for this turn, I think. After KOB, case S setups with KA at 13B become really nasty. Thus, any play I make here needs to at least retain the O so that I can block those types of plays with OKA. At this point, I also did realize that the U is not an important tile to keep even with the Q lurking, and was content to use it to score. Very confident that WUD is the play here.
>Marlene: MY 14G Y.M +13 302
>Will: AAILNOR 13B .OLA +20 324
#note Basic screwup on this move - the play is KORA given the three unseen Rs.
>Marlene: N 14B .N +5 307
>Will: AADEINR L13 AND +8 332
#note Very confused by Marlene's play of ONO. Is she hoping to avoid the Q and execute a stick by blocking my QI spot? I figure I can win most other scenarios, so I decided to play AND to ensure that I have both QI and QADI available if I pick the Q.
>Marlene: EGQRRSU 3A GR...R +10 317
>Will: AEIORRT 15K A.ORE +18 350
#note Spending fewer tiles probably does better in the stick scenario but ADORE is only 3 off Quackle's best sequence.
>Marlene: EQSU N2 ES +16 333
>Will: IRT A1 RI. +12 362
#note Just going out with RITZ should be better than what I did, but better still is J11 LAR, blocking TUM.
>Marlene: QU - +0 333
>Will: T 2M ..T +6 368
>Will: (QU) +22 390
