>Alan: ITW B6 WIT +38 190
>Will: DEIIRRU D8 .URIED +18 207
#note First play requiring any thought. I couldn't live with the volatility of PURI despite the better leave, especially because this is a terrible board for bingoing and the better leave is less important. BURIED and BURDIE seem like a tossup to me.

>Alan: CLNRU H10 .NCURL +33 248
>Will: ?ABEGOR 15B GROwAB.E +61 333
#note I held INCURL* for a little while, but then decided I would allow it since I can't bingo without it and I was slightly less sure than I usually am when I decide to challenge. However, it's absolutely correct to challenge and play H1 GOBAN for 36 leaving ER?. Had I taken a moment to look for that play, I might have pulled the trigger on a challenge.
>Alan: EEJ 13A JEE. +24 272
>Will: AAEHMTY 14F HA.M +38 371
#note Complete whiff on H1 plays, including MAHANT, MAYAN, and YAMEN. Not sure how I could go spot-blind to that area.

>Will: AEISTWY 12B WY. +19 390
>Alan: AEGN L1 GANE +35 329
>Will: AAEFIST 6F EF +28 418
#note 11F FAN looks good too. I was just trying to push the score up to where even a bingo can't beat me.
>Alan: Y D3 ...Y +11 340
>Will: AADIRST M3 STAID +27 445
#note STAID outran even the heaviest hitting words that I could give him (such as the EMOTIVe/VI(C)OMTEs rack) but Quackle suggests 11G AND as a good idea. I see the logic of it. By blocking the C, I force Alan to bingo down from column M, and a great many of the bingos he can play there will allow me a line with which I can counter-bingo out on him with my nice leave of AIRTS. Definitely some spread punted here. LTV was in the bag, and an LT draw after AND should bingo with STARLIT/PES unless Alan finds his only bingo of TELOMIC. It seemed like I did this kind of thing over and over again, and I'm not sure whether I did it because my spread was bad and I just wanted sure wins, or whether my spread was bad *because* I kept doing this.
