>Paul_Holser: IJNOT 8D JOINT +40 40
>Jim_Burlant: EEEINTW 9G EEW +16 16
#note TWEENIE doesn't play, so it's this word either here or at 7G.
>Paul_Holser: AEIORST D8 .AROSITE +82 122
>Jim_Burlant: EILNNOT 15A NON.LITE +122 138
#note Was about to play LENITION when I recognized the 3x3. Back to a deuce game, but not for long:
>Paul_Holser: ADILNRS 11D .RDINALS +86 208
>Jim_Burlant: ABEEOOS 7E BOO +16 154
#note Too much rack grooming. 14B BOTA looks better to prevent X or Q bombs at 14F, or best yet, BOTAS for 34. That said, it's bleak no matter how you slice it: best play here wins 19% and this barely wins 16 and sims 10 points down. And things were about to get worse:
>Paul_Holser: ACINOSU 14H ACINOUS +74 282
>Jim_Burlant: AEEEESV 10J EAVE +15 169
#note Even if I found BOTAS that wouldn't have stopped his last play, and I'd be sitting on EEEEOV and a seventh unknown tile. When I saw this rack I did my best Bill Lumbergh, "Umm... yeeeeaaaaah" because it was obvious this game was already a laugher. My winning chances are barely 2.9%. I played this to set up an S hook while I tried to recover from my last draw. My options are limited here: best play is either this for 15, or the same word one slot to the right for 11. Quackle can't decide which is better, as the plays keep toggling back and forth with each other atop a sim. Given my deficit, I might be better off playing one slot over to set up the triple.
>Paul_Holser: HTY 15M THY +34 316
>Jim_Burlant: AEEFLSZ C9 ZA +44 213
>Paul_Holser: GIV B10 VIG +29 345
#note Play incorrectly scored as 27.
>Jim_Burlant: ?EEFLMW 9M FEW +22 235
#note Trying to keep hope alive. I felt like WIFE 13C defended 14F for him, and that one of my best chances at getting back into the game was to hit something like LATEX 14B. So I wanted to create a distraction. Q says 12G FEW is best and it also likes a bunch of plays in the southwest that take away LATEX and its ilk. 12G FEW looks okay, but I'm fine with this given the situation. 3% to win.
>Paul_Holser: ITTX O8 T.IXT +48 393
#note Sigh.
>Jim_Burlant: ?EELMRS 13K ELM +24 259
#note I whiffed on the S(ONE) front hook (ruling out SMELTER etc.) and never recognized LEMuRES. That said, the bingoes barely score 64 (or 62) and only win 1%. This wins 0.5% and sims barely 8 points down.
>Paul_Holser: Q F14 Q. +31 424
>Jim_Burlant: ??ENORS K3 SENORit.. +64 323
#note INDORSEE/PERSONAE score 68 and 67 at N2. While this is more stylish, in retrospect, I certainly wish I'd found PERSONAE. BTW, you'll notice that I'm averaging more than 40 points per turn. I haven't exactly been drawing badly!
>Paul_Holser: EGILPRY 5E REPLYI.G +78 502
#note I literally laughed out loud as this came down.
>Jim_Burlant: AABDDGM 4J B.AD +24 347
#note J2 GADID scores 28, but whatever.
>Paul_Holser: ACHK 3K .HACK +41 543
>Jim_Burlant: ADGMPRU H1 MURA. +24 371
>Paul_Holser: ADEFIOU O1 FA.E +36 579
>Jim_Burlant: DEGPRU 4A PURGED +31 402
>Jim_Burlant: (DIOU) +10 412
#note While I certainly deserve the blame for the spread, it's pretty obvious there was nothing I could do about the loss.
