#note Does he see ISOGENY if I open with PANNED?
>Peter_Barkman: EGINOSY 7H .OSEYING +66 66
#note cause he missed it here for 77
>Joshua_Sokol: DEORTUW 9G U.DERTOW +66 92
#note I could also take the scoring route with G9 OUTDREW. It opens another scoring spot and the board with it. This was a board-control play
>Peter_Barkman: OOZ L4 OOZ. +32 98
>Joshua_Sokol: AGIRSTU 10A GUITARS +64 156
#note giving the guitar man a taste of his own medicine
>Peter_Barkman: AEIMNN A4 MEANIN. +39 137
#note I wonder what his last tile was. If it's one of afgjkpquvwxy he didn't miss a bingo. He took a long time to play this.
>Joshua_Sokol: CDDEEHP O4 HED.E +42 198
#note Was playing a very board-control oriented game, blocking the S hook on UNDERTOW and the triple word score. I momentarily spaced out on the hooks for OOZY. I can see myself playing 3L DEP or 3J CEDED as well. I was close to playing B4 EDH just to keep a vowel and block a spot that seemed scarier than the G for some reason. He's not likely to have a huge play at B1 or B2.
>Peter_Barkman: AHIRY B2 HAIRY +57 194
>Joshua_Sokol: BCDFPSS E9 F.B +16 214
#note Should I just take the points and rid myself of those unexpected S's with C9 F(I)SCS? I think that this is fine. I don't want to add my S because it just increases the things Peter can do. I'm happy just slow-playing this game. FISCS wins a sim by a small margin, but that's not a play I would make here. It's important to be patient. One vowel and I should be safe, as I now see all the possibilities of hooking OOZY. Let's just hope he doesn't get to it first.
>Peter_Barkman: ELLV 5E LEV.L +16 210
#note a break, but now there are two distinct X-bomb spots that will really bother me until they are taken.
>Joshua_Sokol: CDIKPSS 12A PICKS +41 255
>Peter_Barkman: GITW 3K TWIG +36 246
>Joshua_Sokol: DEOOQSU A12 .OOD +21 276
#note darn, right as I was about to strike with a 67-point QUODS at I3, he hits the OOZY spot. This was a mistake. I don't know why I talked myself out of (R)OQUE or (T)OQUE. I got paranoid from the two blanks I think, and figured that if he hit me with a blank bingo, I would be in better shape after (P)OOD than after ROQUE or TOQUE. Silly

>Joshua_Sokol: AEEIQSU 3B .QUAE +28 304
>Peter_Barkman: LLU 15A .ULL +6 281
#note Peter had burned a huge amount of time up until after this move.
>Joshua_Sokol: ??AEEIS 11G EvASIvE +63 367
#note Drawing both blanks was a huge surprise, as Peter's use of time had implied to me that he had a blank or two. Now I am in full command. I block the huge X-bomb, don't give any easy tickets to scoring since both of my blanks are V's, and I block the whole right side.
>Peter_Barkman: X 14A .X +36 317
#note still taking long for Peter to pull the trigger on his plays. I think he is down to around 3 minutes on his clock at this point.
>Joshua_Sokol: BCEEOTT N1 BE.ET +23 390
#note better BEGET than BEGOT because of the flexibility of the O here. It forms more words with the tile pool, and therefore leaves me more out-in-two options.
