>Avery: DEEITUW H4 WITED +26 26
>David_Gibson: APRR G7 PARR +20 20
>Avery: EEINQSU H10 EQUINE +50 76
#note Wasn't sure if PARR took an S. It's not worth it to pass up the other bingos here (SQUIREEN and ENQUIRES, saw them) but I was very nervous going into this game and overvalued the S by a LOT. I don't like 4E EQUINES either since I felt like it led to a closed board more often. Already at a disadvantage here.
>David_Gibson: ?BGLORS 5E OBL.GeRS +90 110
#note Not much I can do against that. He got a lot of double-doubles this tournament.
>Avery: DGIIPSY 6B GIPSY +40 116
>David_Gibson: AEJ 14F JA.E +27 137
>Avery: DEINOOS D6 .OISONED +74 190
#note We had the score wrong here! I'm actually 10 points ahead of what I had written (I had myself at 180). this matters later.
>David_Gibson: IX 6H .IX +53 190
#note Stop that!
>Avery: BEFORUY 11H .UERY +34 224
#note None of the parallels alongside POISONED seemed favorable since it completely shut down the right. I liked setting up FOB though - CP agrees by a good margin.
>David_Gibson: NZ 13G Z.N +47 237
#note omg
>Avery: BCFFHOW C12 HOWF +37 261
#note BCF is not worth setting up my F at 15D. My reasoning involved figuring that an A or O allows me another shot to hit 10J and that 15A wasn't too likely to get blocked since it would give me another lane, and I didn't think Gibson would necessarily want that. Not really sure what to do here but I don't think this is bad.
>David_Gibson: AAEILMS B2 SEMI.ALA +72 309
#note what a draw!
>Avery: AABCEFU A1 CUBE +38 299
#note I was too focused on keeping column A open that I sacrificed points to leave it there and keep a crappy leave. The top part of the board seems useless but FAB just doesn't seem great with all those vowels. I still think the F is really valuable here though for 15D and 10J. Aside from any plays at 15A, CP picks CUBE.
>David_Gibson: AHLM A7 HALM +40 349
>Avery: ?AAEFKN 15A NA.F +42 341
#note With the blank in hand I feel like I actually have a chance to win now. I very nearly chickened out of this but couldn't afford to pass it up.
>David_Gibson: GLOV L1 VLOG. +26 375
#note Can I triple-triple against Gibson??
>Avery: ?AEEKOO 1K E.OKE +36 377
#note no way
>David_Gibson: EOTV C1 VETO +32 407
>Avery: ?ANORTU 11D .U +4 381
#note Very tough position here - spent a lot of my clock here and was down to about 4 minutes fater it. I figured he was most likely to block the right side with a play at 2N and a draw of an I gives me ADORATION and a draw of a D or E gives me AROYNTED. There's other options as well but I don't think I can sacrifice this many points here. I didn't like blowing up this rack though with a strong bingo potential. CP's suggestions all involve playing 4+ tiles and that doesn't feel right.
>David_Gibson: DIIINRT 2N IT +18 425
>Avery: ?ANORTT 12C ..T +8 389
#note NITRATOR is the only bingo and I didn't see it winning all that often, but that's because I had myself at 10 less than I was supposed to be at! I should just take it - ARCADE usually outruns me though, and given what he played next, it's likely he had it. CP says J1 RAT wins 59% of the time even with the correct score but I don't buy it. Definitely blew my shots of winning here.
>David_Gibson: ACDDE K9 CA.DED +10 435
#note Good bye bingo chances
>Avery: ?AINORT 1C .IATOR +30 419
#note Wait! I missed ANTIROLL at 2E! To win the game! Against Gibson! I had 30 seconds left and didn't even slow down to check for a bingo up top - a lesson that if you're close and a bingo can win, it is worth it to go overtime. I was given another chance and wasted it. I would have won 451-435 with the scoring mistake. It's also one point better to do L11 YON first.
>David_Gibson: AINRT 12K .ARN +20 455
>Avery: ?N I5 ..Ns +14 433
#note A disappointing loss and a more disappointing examination to see I had lost the game, but educational still. Final score: 427-455.
>Avery: (IT) +4 437
