#player2 Karl_Higby Karl Higby
>Joshua_Sokol: DGOSTTY H8 DOTTY +26 26
#note didn't even think of STODGY, which is slightly better because the G is just that bad
>Karl_Higby: AWX I7 WAX +45 45
#note Karl will not allow me to get away with even a minimal mistake. Justice was served!
>Joshua_Sokol: EEFGOSZ G7 FOG +30 56
>Karl_Higby: EILMNPU F1 PLUMINE +70 115
>Karl_Higby: EILMNPU -- -70 45
#note Huge break, as Karl misses TUMPLINE and plays this. I have studied a list that this would be in, so I was fairly confident in its phoniness. ALUMINE, PLUMAGE, PLUMATE, PLUMERY+, FULMINE, and PLUMINE + S = SPLENIUM
>Joshua_Sokol: EEHSSUZ 11E ZES. +26 82
#note not going to say whether or not I saw his 8... :)
>Karl_Higby: EILMNPU E9 UN.IP +16 61
>Joshua_Sokol: AEFHLSU 14B FLUSH +55 137
#note I played this instantly. Really dumb. He has the M which is perfect for the F15 scoring spot I am opening up. Had he drawn into a bingo there it would have been just. (ZEST)FUL was my play, didn't even look there.
>Karl_Higby: AMW 15F MAW +31 92
>Joshua_Sokol: ACDEENO 15A DEAN +28 165
#note AEON scores 3 fewer but retains a clearly superior leave. Considering everything I think that's slightly better here. Once again swerving a bit on autopilot
>Karl_Higby: EILR 11E ....IER +32 124
>Joshua_Sokol: ACEGOOT F5 GOO +11 176
#note As ugly as it looks, this seems to be my best option. GOO(F) is interesting though, forcing him to open the board more for my leave. The R was enough for me to play through I think, no need to sacrifice points and give more back. GOO(N) sims best by around .09% over my play. Gives a tad less back and also influences Karl to open the board a tad more. Not to the extent that GOO(F) does, but still.
>Karl_Higby: ADEEGLR 5D LA.GERED +94 218
>Karl_Higby: ADEEGLR -- -94 124
#note I was much less sure of this challenge, but I absolutely needed to challenge this. I was clearly not a favorite if this stayed on. LAGGARD, LAAGERED, LAGERED, LAGGERS, SAGGERED.

When Karl and I came back to the table and sat down, he said "OK, 94." completely deadpan. I freaked out for a second! This will hopefully explain my cluelessness in the next few turns.
>Joshua_Sokol: ABCENNT 12B CAB.N +20 196
#note was being greedy here, but based on the tile pool I should definitely have gone for 10J BENT or even 10J BANC.
>Karl_Higby: ADEEGLR 10B GLA.D +23 147
>Joshua_Sokol: EIINRST 5E I.NITERS +86 282
>Karl_Higby: EEJR L1 JEER. +40 187
>Joshua_Sokol: AEHMNOO 1L .EAN +33 315
#note missing JOHN and JEON, pretty awful. Don't think I'll ever miss those again. I also considered OHM at M1, which looked better but I really can't leave a 3x3 open with two blanks out and many turns to go for something.
>Karl_Higby: EIORV 4A VIREO +26 213
>Joshua_Sokol: EHMNOOP 3B OOMPH +39 354
#note It's 4 more one spot to the right but once again 3x3s are a definite threat here.
>Karl_Higby: AA 13A AA +11 224
>Joshua_Sokol: EELLNTU A4 .ENULE +27 381
>Karl_Higby: U F2 U. +7 231
>Joshua_Sokol: ?CEKLTV 3I KEV.L +34 415
#note Figured I might possibly lose after two huge bingos but that this was best for spread. pELV(I)C or KELV(I)n were on my radar as well
>Karl_Higby: DEIIRT 1D TIDIER +31 262
#note didn't take the bait, worked out great
>Joshua_Sokol: ?BCIITT 4H BI +21 436
>Karl_Higby: ?AOQRSY K8 QuA.RY +17 279
#note was hoping he'd play this. -6 to going for the points with I13 QiS.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?CITT 10J T.CTIc +15 451
#note but I miss a French word for 3 more. tsk. Also wow I totally should have seen 12H (Y)TT(R)IC even though that's not the right play!!!
>Joshua_Sokol: (OS) +4 455
