#player2 Joshua_Sokol Joshua Sokol
>Jackson_Smylie: DNUY H6 UNDY +16 16
>Joshua_Sokol: AGIIIQS 6G Q.AI +15 15
#note I liked that this kept the I(N)G possibility open for next turn on row 7. Otherwise I might have preferred to exchange. 8F QA(D)I is much better defensively than this is, so that appears to be the best play. Jackson averages 10 fewer after QADI vs QUAI!
>Jackson_Smylie: ?EFILNZ J5 F.NaLIZE +71 87
#note If variance is a hard concept for you to understand, go with superstition instead. I believe that if you make every right decision in a Scrabble game, you will win. This isn't just making the right play. It's having the right attitude coming into the game, being just the right amount of intimidating that you aren't overconfident, handling the tile bag correctly, writing everything down correctly, etc. My first move was a mistake. I no longer deserve to win. I didn't think about the position in more detailed terms than points + leave + board position. I don't believe Jackson would have known to play FrENZIL(Y) had I chosen QA(D)I over QUAI, but this is specifically because Jackson is unique. Gibson, Tunnicliffe, Nigel Richards, someone who is more confident in their word knowledge would have played FRENZILY, and QUAI would have been correct against them.
>Joshua_Sokol: EGIIMOS 11H GI.MO +34 49
#note this game should have been a clearer blowout in Jackson's favor
>Jackson_Smylie: INWY 12L WINY +38 125
>Joshua_Sokol: EIORRSX 10L REX +32 81
#note did not want to attempt FINALIZER at this point in time. It's good. OXER plays hooking FINALIZER, clearly better than REX. OR(Y)XES was also a miss. 48 points and a good board position.
>Jackson_Smylie: EEORSTT 13E TETROSE +79 204
#note I wondered if he had missed ROSETTE(D). Bad thoughts when I should be focused on what I can do to come back.
>Joshua_Sokol: ABCIORS K1 COBRAS +44 125
#note missing COBIAS and by extension OBIAS, setting up my C quite nicely. At a certain point I realized that I was probably playing badly.
>Jackson_Smylie: EOPR 1K .OPER +30 234
#note I believe I held this briefly. Not winning the attitudinal game.
>Joshua_Sokol: ACEEIIN N9 A.E.IC +30 155
#note I'm desperate enough that I should probably play (X)E(N)IA, but I think my desperation translated into hoping he would challenge this for some reason, so I played it with that in mind. He was close to challenging, but I think I played it off as being too confident.

>Jackson_Smylie: ADIORTV C7 D.VIATOR +84 413
>Joshua_Sokol: ABEJMSS B13 JAB +37 284
#note I played this to go for a possible 3x3 A(B)SEILED or something It might be wiser to just play 12A JE(T)SAM for 52, or 14B B(R)EAM for 42 to try and score a few turns in a row and come back that way. I am probably more likely to be able to win by hitting two bingos. He might see through my plan.
