>Dean_Saldanha: AILX 8F AXIL +22 22
>Joshua_Sokol: CEFJTUW 9E JEU +23 23
#note This was one of the worst plays I have ever made in the last few years. Although nothing is absolutely great here, my thought process was ridiculous. I played this to keep things closed and limit Dean's scoring opportunities. I immediately failed that process by giving him an easy way to score by playing from the J. Secondly, I completely and utterly missed (AXIL)E, and did so for the next few turns until he hooked it. Almost any play hooking AXILE is significantly better than this. I think that if I actually saw AXILE, I would have made the right play with J7 WEFT. Board vision fail! At least that's a semi-rarity for me.
>Dean_Saldanha: AGU E9 .UGA +24 46
>Joshua_Sokol: ?CEFTTW 12D W.FT +20 43
#note I can still play WEFT at J7 here, but I unwittingly make what seems to be the right play anyway, but really the right play is to SEE AXILE.
>Dean_Saldanha: AEHIO 11B HOA.IE +22 68
>Joshua_Sokol: ?BCDEGT 10A BEG +18 61
#note It's quite obviously better to play BEG with AXILE here, which is now my second mistake regarding that hook. But as ugly as it is, J7 DEBT is best here, just because of the score and the increased possibility of a play at B10 with C(H) next turn.
Dean muttered "hm" here after I made my play. It really intrigued me in a bad way, until he made his next play.
>Dean_Saldanha: EFIOOR J3 ROOFIE +29 97
#note now I understood. I started to tilt massively here.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?CDNNRT -DNN +0 61
#note missing C(O)NN and forgoing C(O)RN because of the front A and S hooks that just allow him to score too much. 4I C(O)NN is the play. I was already really angry here.
>Dean_Saldanha: ETY K5 YET +29 126
>Joshua_Sokol: ?CDPRTV -CDPV +0 61
#note I'm allowing Dean to walk all over me and he doesn't even have good tiles yet. I was at the height of my pissed-off-ness here and well aware that I should cut it out, because Dean was having a much worse tournament than I was having. Also CR is the best leave to keep here by a landslide (2 points of equity is a lot in these seemingly marginal exchange situations!)
>Dean_Saldanha: EENOORS I8 .OOSENER +60 186
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AEEORT 15G pE.ORATE +74 135
#note I was burning so much time this game, and this rack really did not help my case.
I played this only knowing the S hook, as a desperate attempt to get back into the game. This is a clear delusion caused by being on tilt.
>Dean_Saldanha: DEIV O12 VIED +63 249
#note snap-challenged because I lose if this is good. When he played it I realized that it was probably good.
>Joshua_Sokol: KLLLPRT - +0 135
>Dean_Saldanha: IM J10 MI +22 271
>Joshua_Sokol: KLLLPRT 11I ..LK +16 151
#note between playing 14H R(E)P, exchanging or playing (SI)LK I {REDACTED [didn't care] REDACTED}--- I... thought that it made sense to open the right side as best I could, and I also thought that I could hit something to the R for some reason. I also thought I needed to leave row 14 open even though it was likely to get blocked at some point, especially by what I hoped to draw next turn as well (a vowel), which led to a play at 13B like PALL for 31(!). Quackle prefers R(E)P by a large margin.
>Dean_Saldanha: OUY M11 YOU +24 295
#note an unfortunate consequence of playing (SI)LK
>Joshua_Sokol: GLLMPRT 14H M.G +21 172
#note still going for the A here, grimmer than ever.
>Dean_Saldanha: AHNS L8 HAN.S +36 331
>Joshua_Sokol: DDLLPQT -DLLPQT +0 172
#note the pool is consonant-heavy here, so I don't want to be keeping two consonants. I should keep just the D it seems. This is once again an inferior exchange, 2 points back. I draw well, so I am not used to positions where I have to iterate between many different exchange possibilities!
>Dean_Saldanha: ?DEINOV M3 NaEVOID +86 417
>Joshua_Sokol: CDILNRS 8L ..ND +24 196
#note no use giving him a triple-triple here, he's going to block it 100% of the time and even if he plays a phony or something crazy I still won't win.
>Dean_Saldanha: ABNR O4 BRAN. +11 428
>Joshua_Sokol: CCIILRS A7 CRI. +24 220
>Dean_Saldanha: AAEILRU 13C AAL +25 453
>Joshua_Sokol: CILQRSW 14B QI +24 244
#note Quackle wants me to play 13A CR(AAL)S presumably to go for QUIT L1? This is apparently an equity mistake of 20 points...
>Dean_Saldanha: ADT L2 TAD +14 467
>Joshua_Sokol: CLNRSUW 14N W. +20 264
#note I should block 15A since I didn't draw the I. But there is still less than a 1/4 chance I can draw it. Unsure whether he would keep an I with TAD even though that would be the correct thing to do to get rid of the L-column scoring spot. But then again it's correct for me to block here and I didn't, so regardless Dean is severely outplaying me. I lost a whopping 75 spread points in this pre-endgame.
>Dean_Saldanha: IPPSTTZ 15A ZIT +50 517
#note 2 points better than ZITS. Kudos to Dean for apparently figuring that out.
>Joshua_Sokol: CELNRSU 7C CURN +12 276

#note L(AD)ES 9K forms a valid 5 I did not know. -2
