>Josh_Sokol: ?GGRSTU H4 TUGGeRS +68 68
>Jackson: ?EEENRU - +0 0
>Josh_Sokol: ADKNOOQ 10F KO. +17 85
#note a play like QUOD is not the right idea here after his big start - KOS is strange, but the U gets left alone a fair amount. ADNOQ is also not terrible for Q options, because of I, T draws. KOS controls part of the board without giving up any hook.
>Jackson: ?EEENRU 4E NEU.EREd +64 64
#note seems best to take the points here - all the bingoes open stuff - maybe rE(T)URNEE, but the parallel on the right side of NEUTERED isn't so dangerous, because I often get something back.
>Josh_Sokol: AADNOQT 5D QAT +30 115
#note josh's bingo % goes up from 13 to 20 by playing QAT, but he barely scores any more than QANAT, on average. With a slight lead, I think QANAT is going to favour him with scoring potential and the extra 4 points now.
>Jackson: DEIIOVX 11D VOID +25 89
#note I didn't see any decent X setup, and stuff like ED is gonna backfire and leave me with crap. I played VOID because plays hooking it will further open the board (I don't want a staircase on the bottom left too much), and the X seems decent here, and the 5j spot stays open some. Still, this is a complicated position, and a sim liked EX and VI(R)OID. EX does set up V possibilities, and I save VOID in two spots, which really isn't so bad. OXID is also worth considering. doing it over, I might take EX.
>Josh_Sokol: AAADLNO C9 ALAND +23 138
#note ANODAL looks like the play here.
>Jackson: EEHIIRX D9 HI.E +31 120
#note was all set to play HEXEREI, but this gives back way fewer scoring options, and has better valuation. I thought there was a chance he would challenge this or the S hook on this, but that won't even come up very often.
>Josh_Sokol: ADDOPRW 3C DRAW +25 163
#note DEWDROP is a fine play, though I can open the board quite easily, and it gives back some easy points now. I am surprised Josh didn't elect to control the board more with a play like DAW under AVOID.
>Jackson: AEHIRWX 5J EX +38 158
#note totally whiffed on REWAX above neutered, but Josh averages averages about 4 more, and I average 2.5 fewer. EX puts me in a fine position.
>Josh_Sokol: ADNOOPR 12F PANDOOR +85 248
>Jackson: AFHINRW 3I FAH +38 196
#note my head was not screwed on straight this turn. I miss the superior 11j WHARF, and the vastly superior WHARFIN(G).
>Josh_Sokol: AEIIILO -AIIIO +0 248
>Jackson: ILNPRUW J10 PR.WL +18 214
#note I need to set something up fast, because the board is dying. Q likes PL(O)W or PR(O)W which are probably better because of the much better bingo shots immediately (16 and 18 vs. about 11.5 - interesting that ILNU does better here). PROW also seems to be a bit harder to block - PROWL allows plays through the L, which is really not scary because often he'll have to worry about opening a hook or opening the triple line, but I should still take the play with better immediate bingo %. I put PROWL to the left because it is harder to block and for a good score.
>Josh_Sokol: AELLMTY 10J .ALLY +18 266
#note HEXYL might be a better version, cause it has better balance and scoring potential, and scores the same as PALLY. I assume Josh kept the M for scoring, which seems good. A play like LAMELY or TAMELY b4 is interesting, to set up scoring spots. I think Josh has the right idea to block one hook now (there really are no good PROWLS blocks), because if he doesn't block PANDOORS now, I will still happily take a bingo there for the lead.
>Jackson: BFIINRU N6 UNIF. +13 227
#note hated that this gives points back, but I need to do something to open another lane - keeping IF for IFY words doesn't seem like a smart idea - I wanted to keep an IN for the G lane, but nothing seemed to accomplish that well. maybe IF/ID B13? certainly keeps the pressure on. I also want to be drawing more tiles for an S right now. Really not sure here.
>Josh_Sokol: BEJMNTU 8J JUMB.E +60 326
>Jackson: ABCEIRS 15D CARIBES +103 330
>Josh_Sokol: EINOOTV B6 VEIN +21 347
#note something like OBOL probably does better, even though the V is not very good here, OOT doesn't have very nice scoring potentia (EINTV only scores a bit more according to a sim)l. the o1 spot is going to be big at some point - blocking it with OVEN or something really sucks, Josh needs points.
>Jackson: GIMNOSZ O1 GIZMOS +65 395
>Josh_Sokol: EIOOOTT 2A TOE +9 356
#note Q says 2B TOO wins over 5%... I think Josh's idea is better, because playing one space to the left as he did makes it a lot harder for me to block the whole 1 row - if I have a lot of vowels, I may not have a 5 tile play, but I will almost certainly have a 4. EIOT or IOOT? Josh's play makes sense to me given the pool, and EOT ... ING doesn't seem like a great setup. SNOOTING, SCOOTING, etc.
>Jackson: EEIINSY E2 N... +4 399
#note Josh needed to draw the N for sure - I wanted to be safe, but this is a pretty awful spread play.
>Josh_Sokol: ACEIOOT 3M CO. +28 384
>Jackson: EEIISTY 10A SY.. +34 433
#note out in twos are better
>Josh_Sokol: AEIOTT 1A ATT +21 405
>Jackson: EEIIT D5 .I +11 444
>Josh_Sokol: EIO M7 O.E.I +18 423
#note game #2 where Josh outplays me, I miss a natural 8, I lose a challenge, and win dumbly.
>Josh_Sokol: (EEIT) +8 431
