#note (Jennifer opens vertically, God kills kitten, etc)
>Evans_Clinchy: BEGPTYZ I9 YEZ +36 36
#note Quackle is suggesting a play that sets up the Z for a 70-point bomb next turn, like TYE or YEP. I'm confused. In what universe is that not getting blocked? Although I guess it's worth a shot anyway? My leave will be gross either way, so I might as well embrace the upside of a possible Z play.
>Jennifer_Lee: AAERRTT J10 TAR +24 58
>Evans_Clinchy: BGILPTV 11I ..P +28 64
#note Maybe ZAG instead - the P is a useful tile with the TARP hook out there. It's also just statically a much better tile.
>Jennifer_Lee: AEEHMRT 13I HEATER +30 88
>Evans_Clinchy: BGIILTV 8D BLIV. +13 77
#note TIG/THEATER scores 9 more, but I like this for unloading more junk and also opening more of the board for bingos. Seems worthwhile since I'm behind.
>Jennifer_Lee: ADEMOPR 12J .OAMED +37 125
>Evans_Clinchy: ACGIIRT H13 CIG +30 107
#note I spent 4 minutes trying to remember the word in ACEGIIRRT. I would have sworn it was GRATICIER*, which I came extremely close to playing. Eventually I was like "oh right GERIATRIC," so I gave up on bingoing and made a normal play.
>Jennifer_Lee: EMPRRVX N11 P..V +18 143
>Evans_Clinchy: AGIINRT E4 TRAI.ING +86 193
#note It didn't occur to me that TRIALING was also a thing and that Jennifer might have the X. Oops.
>Jennifer_Lee: DEIMRRX F5 EX +52 195
#note ...d'oh
>Evans_Clinchy: EHNNOTU O7 HUNTE. +34 227
>Jennifer_Lee: ?DILMRR G2 MILD +12 207
>Evans_Clinchy: ADENOOS 15L DOON +31 258
#note Missed ODEON. No reason not to play that. Flip over an extra tile, score an extra 3.
>Jennifer_Lee: IQ H1 QI +37 244
>Evans_Clinchy: AAAEEIS D3 AIAS +27 285
#note Easy decision to burn the S. It's 12 extra points and there are plenty of S's and blanks to be drawn here.
>Jennifer_Lee: ?DEGRRS N1 GiRDERS +75 319
>Evans_Clinchy: AACEENT 1L CA.E +30 315
>Jennifer_Lee: ?BORTUU L1 .URB +16 335
>Evans_Clinchy: AAEEINT C2 AE +8 323
#note Hmmmmmmmmm. I simmed this repeatedly with various numbers of plies and couldn't come up with a clear best play. This seemed reasonable to me, though. Without any clear way to outscore, it made sense to focus on bingos, and this keeps a good leave and opens another lane that she'll have to deal with. Just trying to keep my options open to bingo somewhere...
>Jennifer_Lee: ?ELOOTU F10 OU +11 346
>Evans_Clinchy: AEINNOT I6 NO +13 336
#note Just gotta keep prying things open. Still alive if I can turn AEINT into a bingo...
>Jennifer_Lee: ?EKLOTY 1A YOKE +43 389
>Evans_Clinchy: AEINSTU 15A SAUTEIN. +80 416
#note Thought about this, SINUATE in line J, and a play like QUA that delays bingoing and goes for the bingo out. Correctly ruled out QUA because of the W's in the bag - there are some disaster draws I can hit. Between the two bingos, though, it looks like I pretty clearly messed up. The objective is to not let her bingo back, and SINUATE does that better. She's only 31 percent to bingo out, versus 40 after SAUTEING. Pretty significant blunder!
>Jennifer_Lee: ?ILOTWW 12A WILTs +31 420
#note I got lucky that she drew both W's and I drew neither. The only bingo, WHITLOWS, is one that neither one of us saw until later when watching the live coverage. Crazy word. I was fortunate to sneak out of this one with a win.
