>Joshua_Sokol: DEEILOV H4 VOILE +24 24
#note Totally missed VIDEO. Considered this and VOILE. I really don't want to go through this game but I will anyway to further convince myself that I am terrible. This is the correct play though.
>Deen_Hergott: IIIII -IIIII +0 0
>Joshua_Sokol: ADEEPRU G6 PEA +15 39
#note Decided to go for the closed board here. Should work most of the time. Other options make sense if I don't want as closed of a board, especially PAREU in the same spot.
>Deen_Hergott: OTY F8 TOY +17 17
>Joshua_Sokol: DDEIRRU I5 DUD +21 60
#note With RUDDIER blocked, my next best option isn't great. I can't address TOYS or TOYOS, so there goes controlling this board for this turn.
>Deen_Hergott: DELY J2 YELD +21 38
#note Oh, yet another hook I can't address.
>Joshua_Sokol: EIRRRRT 9C ERR.R +14 74
#note Sorry, I should have waited until you saw my rack before saying that I could not address that hook. Told Deen in game that this was probably a mistake. It was a pun, but I meant it. I should have been able to do something about the fact that Deen virtually always has the blank here. Sometimes defense can't be the best course of action.
>Deen_Hergott: ?ANOSTW 11B WANTOnS +75 113
#note Deen chickened out of SNOWCAT for 23 more, which sucks for me because that S hook is STILL OPEN.
>Joshua_Sokol: DIJORTV 3I J.RID +42 116
#note And there is STILL nothing I can do about it.
>Deen_Hergott: BEW 8A WEB +28 141
>Joshua_Sokol: ABCNOTV 12A BOTA +29 145
#note GAH!
>Deen_Hergott: ?EILNOZ L2 L.ONIZEs +84 225
#note Yes! I don't have to worry about ODDS anymore!!!!
>Joshua_Sokol: ACNOQUV A12 .ANC +24 169
#note This is the first move that Quackle staunchly opposes. It prefers K8 NOVA instead, citing a higher average score. It also likes B6 VO(E), which is just completely absurd.
I preferred to keep as much of the board open as possible and hope to hit an (S)QU word soon. I'm down more than a bingo now. Probably a mistake, since NOVA seems like it works out more often. VOQU is horrendous.
>Deen_Hergott: AMN M6 NAM +24 249
>Joshua_Sokol: GGOQUUV N7 GUV +25 194
#note Deen's last play gave me at least a glimmer of hope. I thought that he must have the third blank if he's going to be so aggressive, but it's this same pattern of carelessness when people are holding well vs. when they are not. This board is forked. But apparently I need more than skills to win this game. I need an S. Or an E.
>Deen_Hergott: EHIT H11 .HITE +36 285
#note And there it was. I held this! I held this... Because I hit my fish for (S)QUEG, and I really wanted it to not be a word. But obviously it is.
>Joshua_Sokol: EGOQRTU 14H .OQUET +35 229
#note And as my line of play was crushed right before my eyes, I just made a ridiculous play. Would B4 TOQU(E) have won me the game? Probably. Even though I've been a sub-1/10 favourite this whole game post-WANTONS.
I knew he had an S. So why did I do this and allow myself to be outscored?
>Deen_Hergott: AISX N11 AXIS +54 339

>Deen_Hergott: AFMOS O3 FOAMS +25 397
>Joshua_Sokol: EFIKNRT L12 KE.F +30 295
#note KIEF obviously better, but FI(X)T best. Didn't care anymore
>Deen_Hergott: CGHINOU D1 .OUCH +24 421
#note -6 to D1 (P)HONIC
>Joshua_Sokol: EIINRST O10 TEIN +19 314
