>Jesse_Day: CDEELOU 8D COUDE +22 22
>Mike: AEOPRSU G1 UPSOARE. +63 63
>Jesse_Day: ?EELSSY I2 dYELESS +73 95
>Jesse_Day: ?EELSSY -- -73 22
#note So, a bit of background here: Several years ago, at a tournament in Seattle, I lost a game to Rafi because (at least in part) I planned my endgame around the fact that COUDE took an S, when it didn't. So I *knew* this was phony, but stared at it for a while to convince myself that I wasn't going crazy. When I challenged, however, I wrote down eYELESS/COUDES. Jesse: "I made the blank a D." Me: "Oh...I'm still challenging."
>Mike: AGIKNTU 3C KAGU. +20 83
#note SKATING 3G wins the sim (given knowledge of Jesse's rack), as this forces the bingo to be EYEGLASS 5B. I'm not sure whether I care for this; if COUDE doesn't take the S, I certainly want him to try it again.
>Jesse_Day: ?EELSSY I2 eYELESS +73 95
#note Which, of course, he does.
>Mike: EIMNOTX - +0 83
#note And, not knowing my new words, I challenge. So, to recap: I have now lost turns both to the fact that COUDE didn't take an S, and to the fact that it now does. Sigh.
>Jesse_Day: BDGIPRZ 4A BRIG +32 127
>Mike: EIMNOTX J4 MIX +59 142
>Jesse_Day: ADEFIPZ 5C FEZ +44 171
#note I played the rest of the game under time pressure and also a bit incensed at the DYELESS gaffe. FAZED is better here.
>Mike: AEILNOT A4 .LOAT +21 163
#note Right idea, but BONITA does the job better.
>Jesse_Day: ADILNPT B6 PLAID +32 203
#note I actually saw PIEPLANT here, which sims better than PLAID even though opens the triple because there are 5 Ns and 4 Ts left.
>Mike: EEINNTV 1D VEN.E +36 199
#note INVENT A10 is a hair better.
>Jesse_Day: AEJNRTY K3 JET +31 234
>Mike: DHILNOT D8 .HILD +22 221
#note Sim prefers either JOHN 3H (tough to do with an S and a blank out) or OH J1 (intriguing idea, as there are quite a few vowels to draw).
>Jesse_Day: ACNRTUY 3K .URY +28 262
>Mike: ?ANOSTW 12D .OWNcAST +61 282
#note Didn't see SNOWcAT L5.
>Jesse_Day: ACEGNOT 13C GENOA +36 298
>Mike: ABDENRV A10 ADVERB +51 333
>Jesse_Day: CIIMRTT J10 MI.T +12 310
#note this lame play lost me the game. I didn't have the time to find anything better. Star play is the awesome COITION at E7 but just CLIT at 11C is not far off.
>Mike: EFHNNOT K10 OF.EN +32 365
>Jesse_Day: ACIIORT 7I .TOAI +19 329
#note probably time to start fishing - with two Ns out, BORNITIC looks like a fair try (and it scores 89 which could be enough). instead, I was super-low on time and just kind of played randomly. too bad.
>Mike: HIINNQT 6M QI +24 389
#note THIN 14F first, as the two spots for QI (L9, 6M) cannot both be blocked given the tile pool. This is still 100%, though.
>Jesse_Day: CEIORRW N1 WR. +18 347
>Mike: AHINNT 1M A.N +18 407
>Jesse_Day: CEIOR 15A .ICE +9 356
#note Minus 30 for time.
>Mike: HINT 14F THIN +23 430
#note Final score recorded as 434-326.
>Mike: (OR) +4 434
