#note I saw 8J WIDTHS 39 and passed it up. It sims only about half a point ahead of my play. Quackle likes D12 WITH 43, which I didn't see but looks sensible despite the FSV leave, as it hampers the many hooks (DRSTY) that BLUE takes.

An interesting but more risky option is 11I WIVE, which sets me up for SHIFT or SHAFT H11 next turn among other things. It's risky because not only are there two more S's and both blanks out, but the Q is still out. I'm playing essentially for spread at this point unless I get hit with several bingos in a row, but an 80 point Q play might give him an outside chance.

This is exactly what makes WITH a great play, apart from the occasional 3x3 like PREHEATS or TREHALAS. These are outweighed by all the 7s and other big plays on row 15 it would block.

#note I went on autopilot here and took points plus a likely shot at the R hook to BLUE next turn, but looking now, an intriguing option might have been F11 WHIP 23. It takes T as well as S, and I now know Andy holds neither. WITH might still be best here, but I could very possibly get another quick bingo out of WHIP.

#note I rushed on this one too. Partial knowledge of his rack complicates things, but 3D MANGERS 70 might be better for preventing big J or (if he has a blank he cares to burn) Q plays on the triple. I think after the AB play he could be pretty close to bingoing, making holding a J or Q less likely. 14E MANGERS for two fewer points has the merit of making bingos on row 15 much harder, and playing in that area keeps things more closed generally. There simply isn't enough time for him to catch up after any bingo of mine, but spread turned out to be very important in this tournament, as it usually is. These both "sim" a few points better than my play, as does 3E ENGRAMS 66 despite the 4 fewer points up front.
