>Mack_Meller: ?FNNNOS 14E NONFaNS +69 158
>David_Weisberg: BDEEELL 15A BELLED +35 164
#note This or L1 BLED 41 both take up dangerous spots, but I wanted more overall openness. It also seemed like the row 15 triples were more damaging threats, and the EEL leave wasn't that appealing. A sim prefers BLED by under a point.

>David_Weisberg: AAINRTU 2A .AU +6 292
#note By this point I'm likely sunk, but I had the idea of saving some spread by baiting a Q play through the U and getting QINTAR if I couldn't bingo. TAU also opens a higher-scoring bingo line, though it is hard to use. All the optiions I simmed have a win percentage under 2%, but the top option was 10B AR 8, which can draw into bingos like TENURIAL, CURATION, QUATRAIN, CURTAINS NUTRIAS. The few wins might come from a combination of a bingo and a big Q or Z play, or a bingo and some Q-stick scenario.

#note Drawing VZ was not what I wanted to see, but it created some possibilities, some of which I missed. The idea of my play was a longshot hope to draw SU for 1C TZURIS for 78, plus block the open U for a possible Q-stick, though I see now that that is impossible since he can play the Q if he has either I or T, and I can't draw both along with SU.

A sim says I should have played 7N ZA 24. This hopes to draw ES for O1 INTERVALS 89 or EE for INTERVALE. However, since Mack just played off two E's by themselves, I though he was certain to have at least one more E, if not both the remaining ones. Another problem with this is that it makes it almost impossible to stick him with the Q since the U is left open and the tiles I need to draw would allow him plays there if he has the Q. Since I'm leaving a tile in the bag, I suppose the only possible win is that the Q is in the bag and he first empties the bag and then I bingo out for 89. But he is also likely to be aware of the 9s I could play and block them. I could be missing something, but given the lower likelihood of an E draw than Quackle thinks, I believe salvaging spread with a possible TZURIS play isn't too bad.
