>Carl: DEGITVW 8D WIDGET +30 30
#note After some thought, this seemed better than WIVED. But it's not. (-3)

>Carl: ?EIPUWX F10 WIPE +30 133
#note Setting up XU for next turn. Cute, but it doesn't sim that much higher than the straightforward XU 6B.

#note Missing HABU 8L. (-17)

#note I saw sim-winner IVY, but there are four Ts and the J unseen. Quackle's playing with fire. (-11)
>Mack_M: NNNOS D3 NONN..S +20 255
#note Awesome find by Mack!
>Carl: ?AEKLTZ 15A ZA +38 268
#note Interestingly, ZEN 6B wins the sim here by a little, despite being 2 points less and keeping a seemingly worse leave. It's not because of EYESTALK because that's also possible after ZA. (-0.5)
>Mack_M: AHI C3 AHI +23 278
>Carl: ?EEKLOT B1 KETOL +30 298
#note I nearly played KETOLE* here, thinking it was good! Mack would have challenged it. That made me wonder what other word knowledge mistakes I made at SWILLLNS and the answer is: barely any. At Nationals, one month later, however... quite a few. I wasn't merely lucky at SWILLLNS because I bagged everyone, I was also lucky to get words I knew.
>Mack_M: ?AERTTU 13F .RUcTATE +66 344
#note I was not expecting a bingo to the E. Very bad news.
>Carl: ?AEEINY H12 Y.AN +33 331
#note This is a decent play and it sims second-best. But 12K AIYEE just does a little better. It's hard to leave that H12 hotspot open while taking out Column O, but maybe it's right. (-2.5)
>Mack_M: IILNP 12K LIPIN +26 370
>Carl: ?EEIJSU O10 JU.kIE +36 367
#note And here I blew the game in several ways. I had plenty of time. But first, I mistracked. Then, I couldn't figure out how I had mistracked. Then I tracked again and was still off. At that point, I started from scratch from a new tracking sheet, and eventually got it. But now I was down to like 5 minutes. Critically, I had also misscored. I thought I was at 321 and not 331, and didn't catch it until after the game. So when I saw that pUNJIS, EKE didn't win, I ruled it out. And then, with seconds remaining, I couldn't remember which sequence was best. PUNJIS nets me 5 more points and a tie game. Aiyee!
