>Joshua_Sokol: ENOOUUW -IIIII +0 0
#note exch WUUOO keeping EN
>Arie_Sinke: EEGJNOR 8G JOG +22 22
#note This looks boring and correct.
>Joshua_Sokol: CDEFNRU H6 FR.UNCED +65 65
#note kenji says this is weird and I might concur. UNFORCED is one more point. I might be trying too hard here #questionable
>Arie_Sinke: ADEENRR 12F RE.ARNED +68 90
#note I missed the unnatural looking word of DARNEDER through the D here. Josh spotted it after the game.
>Joshua_Sokol: AEEIIQU 6H .IQUE +37 102
>Arie_Sinke: DEEIMPX 13K EXED +41 131
#note This looks better than the alternatives. MIREX through two different Rs keeps a better leave but five points is too much to give up.
>Joshua_Sokol: ABEIOSW 14M BOW +28 130
#note I took 4 and a half minutes to make this play. I couldn't remember if BOWSER was good. If I could remember I probably play that instead. #timesaddest
>Arie_Sinke: GIMOPUU 15N MO +33 164
#note I have a better alternative here. GUIMPE L1 scores 26, a sacrifice of only 7 points, and cleans up my rack down to a somewhat acceptable two tile leave of OU. I believe Josh is more likely than average to hold a hook tile for DEB here, so there is some merit to taking out the spot, but probably not enough to justify my play. It's close, though.
>Joshua_Sokol: AEIOSST 10D ASTO.IES +62 192
>Arie_Sinke: GIOPUUW -GIOPUUW +0 164
#note Exchanging seven looks right here.
>Joshua_Sokol: AADINTV E4 VANITA. +20 212
#note lots of reasonable options here, I liked this one the most. Sim prefers NAV(A)ID to be aggressive, AID 11J to score, NAVAID(S) to score a bit more. I think this is fine #questionable
>Arie_Sinke: ?AAILOS 4E .ALOnIAS +72 236
#note This and VArIOLAS are my only options. If Josh had played elsewhere I would have played ASOcIALS.
>Joshua_Sokol: DEILNRY 7J INLY +26 238
#note thought this was a nice high-risk high-reward play. Other options here like RED(D)Y 13E which creates an annoying spot underneath, or 11J RID/RED to score and not open any huge spots.
>Arie_Sinke: AFNPRTY 8L FART +48 284
#note Best by fart.
>Joshua_Sokol: DEERRUZ H1 ZER. +39 277
>Arie_Sinke: BCLNNPY 2F BL.NNY +19 303
#note The one play that sims comparably to BLENNY is BANC at D9 for one more point. I am ahead by a tempo, and in the event that neither of us bingo, I am favored to win this game, so it makes sense to obstruct bingo lines here. I prefer my play slightly.
>Joshua_Sokol: DEGHHRU D9 H.UGH +29 306
>Arie_Sinke: ACILPTW C6 CLAW +27 330
#note I probably should have thought about this one a bit longer, as there are several options on column C that I could consider. I liked using the C to prevent overlaps here, but I could snag an extra point with CAW, which sims a bit better. PILAW wins the sim but allows three tile overlaps, and I want to obstruct the O column next turn it possible to make it extremely difficult for Josh to bingo. I like CAW best.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?DEIORT O4 TERa.OID +59 365
>Arie_Sinke: AEEGIPT 6B A.I.G +14 344
#note This is an extremely desperate attempt to set up a hook that is likely to cost me a lot of spread. I have to cross my fingers that both the M and the P are in the bag - not a particularly likely prospect - and that I miraculously draw into something that doesn't get blocked. Wins for me are conceivable but unlikely. A sim to the end of the game thinks I should just take the 28 points with ETAPE N2, which would be a cool play if there were an R out (there isn't.) ETAPE may pull out a handful of endgames with optimal play from both sides if Josh draws all the vowels. It's hard to conceive a way for ACING to win - if Josh misses the M or the P he can block with something like VIA to seal the deal, and there's nothing for me to draw with HAUGHS. At least this complicates things and forces Josh to play carefully in some scenarios.
>Joshua_Sokol: IIKOPUV A6 PIKI +41 406
>Arie_Sinke: EEOPSTT 13C T.E +12 356
#note This looks good, but it's technically an error, because Josh can block PESTO with EMU E13, leaving me with no outs.
>Joshua_Sokol: EMOUV N2 OVUM +24 430
#note -13 #endgameSADDEST
>Arie_Sinke: EOPST 14B PESTO +35 391
