>Arie_Sinke: ?GLNORR 8G GRR +8 8
#note This appears best, no other options are appealing.
>Terry_Kang: IIIIIII -II +0 0
>Arie_Sinke: ?ELNOOT 9E LOO +8 16
#note First missed bingo of the tournament: GOLdTONE. LOO is a substantiall error; I should just play LO. I bingo a lot less when I keep one less tile, as it allows for more variability in what I draw, and LOO sets up too much - the 8A-E spot is a gift, as well as the underlaps. LO actually sims better than the bingo - LOO definitely doesn't. Other plays like NO and TO and OOT also look better. Irrational dislike for the O blinded me here.
>Terry_Kang: ADEIPST E7 TA.IPEDS +72 72
>Arie_Sinke: ?ENNSTY 8A YENT. +27 43
#note Saw SYNToNE and SYNToNES as soon as I looked at the position in Quackle - bad miss.
>Terry_Kang: ABEHO D11 OBEAH +45 117
>Arie_Sinke: ?AEINSY I2 SEmINA.Y +66 109
#note Missed a few better plays - cYANI(N)ES C3, kYANISE F1, EASY(GO)INg. Rough start to the tournament.
>Terry_Kang: BMO C11 MOB +38 155
>Arie_Sinke: AEGLNRT 5D ALTER.NG +86 195
#note This is fine.
>Terry_Kang: AAAIIII -AIII +0 155
>Arie_Sinke: AEFNNXZ 4B FAZE +56 251
#note This looks best.
>Terry_Kang: AAM 15A AMA. +27 182
>Arie_Sinke: INNNORX J1 NIX +25 276
#note Deliberately went for the defensive position of NIX here - I can get 6 more points at 6B but this blocks the majority of playable bingos. Doesn't win a sim, but I still think it's worth it.
>Terry_Kang: EU B4 .EU +8 190
>Arie_Sinke: AGNNOQR 6A Q.AG +27 303
#note Clearly best.
>Terry_Kang: DDEOOSW A8 .OW +9 199
>Arie_Sinke: DEINNOR K5 .ROINED +18 321
#note I did briefly consider the CSW only bingo ENDIRON#, but thought better of it. My play drastically reduces Terry's odds of bingoing immediately (goes down from 7-10% TO 3%), but may have some longer term defensive weakness in that it opens up the southeast quadrant.
>Terry_Kang: EIL 3I ..ILE +24 223
>Arie_Sinke: DIJNOVW N1 VID +28 349
#note This is extremely defensive and conveniently also the best way to optimize score and leave available to me.
>Terry_Kang: CEO 1L CO.E +36 259
>Arie_Sinke: CJNORSW J10 WORN +31 380
#note Looks best, conveniently unhookable.
>Terry_Kang: HIPRSUV F14 HI +27 286
>Arie_Sinke: ACDJPSU L10 DAP +23 403
#note I was running out of time here and figured I just needed to do something to secure the win. I didn't see JUST F2, but this is conveniently second best because it saves that play for next turn.
>Terry_Kang: FK 2M K.F +22 308
>Arie_Sinke: CEIJSTU F2 JUS. +44 447
#note Looks best.
>Terry_Kang: V 7I .V. +6 314
>Arie_Sinke: ?CEEITU M5 CUTIEs +16 463
#note One last missed bingo to end the game - RETICUlE H8 for 94. At no point did I consider the possibility of either of us forming a RE- eight with LOOEY.
>Terry_Kang: ILRSTTU 13L SUIT +15 329
>Arie_Sinke: E A8 ...E +10 473
#note Best out.
>Arie_Sinke: (LRT) +6 479
