#note Rd 3 Philly virtual 11-18-2021. I did see and consider TUB, BUT, and 8G BUSK. TUB does give me an S hook on both sides, but it's not likely to stay open with TUBA and TUBE as possiblities, not to mention the inflexible EKSV leave. BUT poses similar issues, and ETV wasn't appealing to me after BUSK. The initial valuation puts BUSK ahead of exchanging, which I was astounded by, but the sim backs up my exchange over BUSK. This is more my style either way.
>eddybear: EHINSTU 8H UH +10 10
#note Looks fine, 10 points is better than 0.
>skaplan31: EEIORST I4 ISOT.ERE +63 63
#note If he's close to a bingo, I'm ready for a slugfest. Purposely chosen over THEORIES and THEORISE to put me in a better spot to counter his bingoes. There's no backing down here.
>eddybear: EEIINST 7G EN.ITIES +62 72
#note 12I SIENITE would not only have been 16 more for him immediately, but it also creates a board that has potential to be more in line with the Cubs beating the Phillies 26-23 in 1922, which was the highest scoring game in MLB history.
>skaplan31: ADEGLNP 4D PLEAD.NG +78 141
#note PEDALING also works in this spot. Purposely sacrificed 2 points instead of doing N7 SPANGLED to remove the dangerous H4 hotspot.

I guess I wasn't PLEADING the 5th here, right?
>eddybear: AEGINOU E2 EU.OGIA +16 88
#note I guess Ed wants that volatility back! I like H1 GUIDE nicely.
>skaplan31: AAJLOOR F8 RAJA +29 170
#note 3C JO(U)AL. Don't feed into his volatility. #findinglarge
>eddybear: ?AEIKNV E11 KNAVE +36 124
#note Is he trying to knock the ball out of the stadium or what?!
>skaplan31: ELOOOXZ F1 OX +50 220
#note Yep. I have more outrunning power with my leave after OX instead of 13C OX(A)ZOLE, which I also found.
>eddybear: ?EEILOT 14B OLI.E +20 144
#note Couple bingoes play: K7 (T)OILEtTE and (T)OILETEd for 64 each, K6 E(T)IOLaTE (yay 5v8s) for 64, and 13E (A)ErOLITE for 58 (yay another 5v8!)
>skaplan31: ELOOOWZ D10 ZOO +35 255
#note Freeing up the Z might normally be OK, but not exactly when G9 WOE scores exactly the same and I can score again with the Z next turn.
>eddybear: ?DEINTT 15E .NTITlED +82 226
#note 15B DIN(E)TTEs would have been insanely nice board vision!
>skaplan31: ELLOOUW G9 WO +27 282
>eddybear: ?BENNSW M6 N.WB +12 238
#note Luckily Ed probably didn't know that PLEADINGS was good, and quite frankly, neither did I. Luckily I escaped what could have been a significant game changer for Ed right here.
>skaplan31: ACELLOU 8A CELL.. +27 309
#note I liked scoring, but OCULAR does a better job equitywise and scorewise. #findingmedium
>eddybear: ?DENRSY 11H Y.aRENDS +72 310
#note Unsurprisingly, L1 YENS sims better than this. Literally advantage him after that.
>skaplan31: AAIMOTU O8 AMU.IA +27 336
#note I did see 14J AMAUTI this time, but I liked how much less this potentially gave back.
>eddybear: DFGIMPY K1 PIG.Y +24 334
#note Big turn here. I guess if Ed doesn't want to lose to a bingo, he could do B7 DEFY or 6B PIGGY instead.
>skaplan31: HIORTUV 2J V.RTU +32 368
#note It's as much Ed's moment as it is mine at this point. I ended up choosing this over B3 OUTVI(E) because it's 15 more, and this was chosen over 1K (P)IVOT to prepare for a potential Q draw for 15A QI. This will help me outrun Ed in most cases, and the Q is getting to be worrysome now.
>eddybear: ABCDFMR N1 C.B +7 341
#note I immediately inferred Ed didn't leave the E after CUB. That was the only downside to doing VIRTU, but the Q needed to be kept in mind to have proper protection should I draw it. As for this move, L10 FEM does allow Ed to go for B2 CARBIDES/ASCRIBED, and L10 FED allows him to go for B2 EMBRACES or B3 CHAMBERS, and the like.
>skaplan31: AFHIOST B6 FO. +14 382
#note While I did see 1K (P)OA(C)H, I wasn't even worried about anything besides blocking Column B either way as Ed could bingo out with B2 REFRAM(E)D with a Q draw. That's the only way I could have lost if I didn't block that and had considered any other move. By retaining the I, I can outrun Ed with the Q for 15A QI and 14M QIS, which will definitely score enough to outrun him as he will go out in 2 moves should I pick the Q. If not, I don't see how he can go out in 2. I could have also tried Q-sticking him by making a Row 14 play, but again, that also loses if I draw the Q myself (meaning I win 7/8 without taking out Column B), but my play wins 100%. There's only 3 additional plays that win 100%: 10B FI(Z) (which would have also saved the T for G3 QAT and allowed H14 QI), 5C HOOF (which probably should have been my play given that I can get more points off my rack), and 3C FO(U). Literally, a boatload of plays win 7/8 besides 1K POACH in this pre-endgame.
>eddybear: ADEFMRR B11 ARM.R +7 348
#note He rightfully blocks one of my Q plays, but he told me after the game he wasn't sure if AMUSIA took an S. That's understandable.
>skaplan31: AHIQST 14M QIS +33 415
#note Oops...H1 QAID. But that's all right, I properly prepared for the Q draw and, sure enough, that was the tile in the bag which would not have hurt me in this case.
>eddybear: DEF 2B FED.. +32 380
#note Best out play for him.

I like how I started off extremely bold then became so much more conservative as the game went on. Couple sloppy plays, but sometimes 1 good play in the end allows me to be 3-0.
