#note I don't think anything scored as well by not making a parallel play, as much as I didn't want to do this against Frank. 9A HOWE gave back way too much despite me undoubling my Es, so I went with this.
>franktangredi: ?LLRRST H5 STR.LLeR +58 78
#note I wonder if he considered doing H6 TR(O)LLeRS if he wanted to hope I wouldn't see the STROLLERS hook. But either way, G6 TR(I)LLeRS is 2 more. Still a good way to get out of this crummy rack.
>skaplan31: EEMNUVW 5C UNMEW. +22 50
#note I did consider 10F VE(L)UM, but that's too blocky for my liking since VELUMS* isn't good. I did not know 5H (S)WEVEN, which does look better positionally at this score even though I don't care for the right angle it creates. #knowledgemedium
>franktangredi: ACDGNOP 11D PONG.D +18 96
#note Looks like a nice defensive move.
>skaplan31: ADEEILV 12A VILE +30 80
>franktangredi: AACDEEE A11 E.ADE +27 123
#note Looks good. Gotta enjoy giving New York City a shoutout with the ACE leave!
>skaplan31: ABDEISU 13H SUBIDEA +80 160
#note Good thing I was able to draw into this bingo and have my spot for it.
>franktangredi: ACEORTU L6 OUTRACE. +74 197
#note Unlucky that he got me back.
>skaplan31: BEFIOXY 6E OX +54 214
#note Mhm
>franktangredi: EHIILOS 8L .HIO +21 218
#note Reasonable play, O8 HOLIES and HELIOS are also fine for the 20 extra immediate points.
>skaplan31: BEFINTY M2 NIFTY +27 241
#note Trying to see why 14M FIB wins the sim despite some disaster potential...
>franktangredi: EILRSYZ 2J ZEI.S +68 286
#note Oh, wonderful. I just gave him this nice nonbingo.
>skaplan31: BCEFKNR L1 K.BE +44 285
#note While I did not see N10 KEN(A)F to get rid of another consonant, I would have chosen this over KENAF or KEBAR either way against Frank. This way, I keep enough lanes open. And it's 2 more.
>franktangredi: EEILRVY 14A .EVILRY +32 318
>skaplan31: CFIMNRT K4 RIF +27 312
#note This time, I should have seen 10J FR(A)NC, and it would actually cost me. CMNT isn't doing a whole lot on this board.
>franktangredi: EINOOQU N10 QUE.N +68 386
#note Combine this with my post-RIF draw, and this one is basically over already.
>skaplan31: CJMNNPT -CJMNPT +0 312
#note No doubt I needed to exchange. There's always the hope of drawing a bingo on Row 15 which would require a big sacrifice of points on Frank's part (unless he drew the S after QUEAN). Just in case that spot isn't taken and I don't draw the S, I have a way of opening up Row 3 by keeping the N (seeing there's a G left in the pool to do C4 NU then GNU) as a bingo ending at 3J won't score enough to get me back in this game. The bottom line is, I really need a Row 15 bingo to catch up, which I doubt would have stayed open as Frank can simply play on Row 15 himself without drawing the S. For those reasons, I turned over enough tiles to shoot for the moon while still retaining a useful N to hopefully be able to utilize Row 3.
>franktangredi: AAIOOST 15J IOTAS +21 407
#note 15L TOSA would have been 30 for him, but this does put him in a good spot. I couldn't have reasonably expected that to stay open.
>skaplan31: ?EEGNRT C4 N. +2 314
#note Good. That's why I kept an N instead of throwing them all back. Frank would not always be able to close off my GNU opening without giving me back another line.
>franktangredi: AACJMOP D1 JAPA. +48 455
#note Scores the most for him, but I can at least cut a moderate amount of spread.
>skaplan31: ?EEGNRT 2A NEG.TERs +70 384
#note Or GRE(A)TENs in the same spot. Good for cuttings pread.

ZEINS was unlucky, and I responded nicely after that, but my move of RIF was basically a game-losing play. Well played Frank!
