>Josh: LLMOTUY H8 TOLUYL +26 26
#note tried to remember if MOULTY* was valid
>Mark_Edelson: OWY I7 YOW +28 28
>Josh: ?ALMSTZ 14H ShMALTZ +106 132
#note ridiculous
>Mark_Edelson: EEIMORS J3 ISOMERE +79 107
#note A really good time to phony, even though this is a pretty bad one and most people my level would have challenged. I couldn't pull the trigger unfortunately, but it looked sort of weird. He also took a while.
>Josh: CCEFINV 3I C.VIC +30 162
#note VINIC doesn't take an S but this board looks like it's getting condensed on the right side regardless
>Mark_Edelson: EOR 10F RO.E +16 123
>Josh: ?EFNRWX K5 FEW +41 203
#note I put a lot of thought into this vs FERN in the same spot. FERN scores 3 fewer than FEW, but leaves me with tiles more conducive to long-term scoring and maintaining my leave. Less consonant-heavy. But in the end I decided to score a bit more and keep the "better" leave, one that scores and bingos more on average but has a higher standard deviation. Should have played FERN. FEW sims 4 points higher.
>Mark_Edelson: ADEILRS M7 LARDIES. +72 195
>Josh: ?AANNRX 15N AX +38 241
#note now he's threatening a huge play at 8L depending on his draw and that would make the scores too close for comfort. FERN would have preemptively blocked 8L and left me with better options.
>Mark_Edelson: AKT 8L K.TA +39 234
>Josh: ?AANNQR N6 QA. +34 275
>Mark_Edelson: DFN 12L F.ND +20 254
>Josh: ?ENNORR 12C ORNER. +18 293
#note I did still manage to score well in the past few turns, but things could have easily been worse. I didn't consider ONER(Y) as much as I should have. ORNERY doubles with the floating R in ROLE so it never gives him a bingo he didn't already have. However I could be blocking something if I play ONER(Y).
>Mark_Edelson: BGIT C9 BIG.T +22 276
#note Other downside of ORNERY, sometimes gives him a nice tile dump like here.
>Josh: ?AAEINU F9 U.A.I +5 298
#note meh, just score 11 more with the N, O3 UNAI
>Mark_Edelson: OP 11K PO. +15 291
>Josh: ?AEEHNV D4 HAVENEd +81 379
>Mark_Edelson: DPUU C1 PUDU +19 310
>Josh: AEIIJNR 1C .INIER +27 406
#note glad to have considered this over JA(P)E or JA(P)ER. No need to allow 100-point bingos that might steal the game away, and AJ is a great leave to keep here. It can score, block surprisingly well and also punish certain plays.
>Mark_Edelson: N 2B N. +4 314
>Josh: AABGHJO B4 HAJ +38 444
#note this might have been lazy though I hold a G and the case A's, so I can play B8 GOB to make a counter-setup and prevent setups further down on column B like the one he did end up making.

I can play HOB B4 and set up my JA but there is no guarantee I'll hit anything. I can play AGHA A1 but that doesn't actually look that good since he's likely going to use up my spot for JOB B8.

I see IGNITES/IGNITED and EGESTED playing at A1, wonder how likely he is to actually be going for one of those. I think IGNITES/IGNITED is pretty likely here so immediately blocking column A looks fine.
>Mark_Edelson: EEINOST 9B O.. +5 319
>Josh: ABEEGOS B9 .BA +24 468
#note realized he might actually be 1/2 to have DIGIT(A)TE. Nice fish if so. Confirmed that he was going for DIGITATE as well! G(O)B is apparently many points better than this. The G is the worst tile but also this stops many strong outs in two and I'm never going out first
>Mark_Edelson: DEGIINT A11 TINGE +25 344
#note whew no digitate
>Josh: EEGOST 14A .ESTE +21 489
>Mark_Edelson: DI 6D .ID +11 355
#note out of time
>Mark_Edelson: (GO) +6 361
