>Jonathan_Lindh: EWY 7G YEW +37 37
>Jim_Burlant: AAEFILM 6F FA +19 47
#note Best. Still a deuce game.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EEV 5D VEE +17 54
>Jim_Burlant: AEEILMO 9I EMO +20 67
#note Lots of decent, but not great choices. I didn't like D3 MOVIE because I didn't want to give him easy points at 8A if he had an S. HEMIOLA L8 blew up the rack for no good reason, and HOMIE didn't appeal because Quackle has conditioned me to think a vowel overloaded AEIL leave is better than it really is. Which left this. This is a minor indiscretion in the duck's eyes. The game is still deuce - 49% to win.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEINSVY -4 +0 54
>Jim_Burlant: AEGILSZ M2 GLAIZES +97 164
>Jim_Burlant: AEGILSZ -- -97 67
#note The alphabet soup congeals and causes word confusion. I conflated GLAIVES and BRAIZES into GLAIZES*, and Jonathan wasn't having any of this nonsense. If I had this turn to do over, ZIGS 10F would be my play. Of note: the slick ISA(GO)GE K5 scores 36 and keeps the Z.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?EEGOSS M2 GEsSOES +77 131
#note Nice find! I knew this was good when Jonathan put it down, but I never would have found this. EGOLESS yes, but not GESSOES. Anyway - Jonathan has a zillion options here, all of which score 77 - 79 poonts. He's in the driver's seat, 72% to win.
>Jim_Burlant: AEGILSZ 10F ZIGS +41 108
#note Wow, I'd have never thought I should turn down 13 extra points just to keep an S, but apparently the duck says that's what I should do: ZIGS on row 5 is apparently the ticket. However, this worked out well. 31% to win, and that's about to go up soon.
>Jonathan_Lindh: JTU 5J JUT. +22 153
>Jim_Burlant: ACDEELR D2 CLA.ERED +80 188
#note With DECLARES 4F blocked, this is my only bingo. It put sme into the driver's seat, and it's now 58% to win. A nice turnaround from 2 turns ago.
>Jonathan_Lindh: CDLNOUW - +0 153
#note Lost challenge.
>Jim_Burlant: AINNORR 11D ROAN +21 209
#note I'd have thought this was a no-brainer best play, but a sim likes RANI 11E a little more, and a glance at the tile pool explains why: not only does it outscore this by 3 points, but there are still 7 I's unseen and I should probably look to unload mine.
>Jonathan_Lindh: BDLU 8A LUB.D +24 177
>Jim_Burlant: IILNRTY 2J LIN.Y +22 231
#note Reasonable, but not quite best: K8 GORILY scores comparably and doesn't open up potential mischief on row 1. Fortunately for me, Jonathan couldn't muster more than an average play on row 1 on his next turn.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EFILT 1G FILET +28 205
>Jim_Burlant: ACDIRTW 2B WI.CA +28 259
#note Failure to see the longer plays does me in. WICCA is the best scoring play I have, but but it's a B- play because it gives back TAX/QAT 1A. GODWIT K8 or 3B WILDCAT look like better choices here.
>Jonathan_Lindh: DIN D11 .IND +10 215
>Jim_Burlant: DIRRTTV 12A VIR.D +16 275
#note That helpless feeling you get when your opponent is obviously setting something up and you just have to watch because you can't do anything about it... All I can do here is hope he extends from 15D to 15H, and that if I put the V at 12A, I can extend that to A15 on my next turn. I can't do much else. This is best.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AHQSU 15A QUASH +61 276
#note Best play for Jonathan, and he's back to 33% in a short sim.
>Jim_Burlant: ?ABRRTT 1A TAB +24 299
#note Atoning for my WICCA mistake. Have to defend against PAX/TAX/etc. at 1A. Despite the close score, having the blank drastically increases my chances of winning: 82% to win.
>Jonathan_Lindh: NO 6J ON +17 293
>Jim_Burlant: ?MPRRTT B6 TR.MP +17 316
#note Nothing else worth consideration here. This is clearly best, as it clears the consonant cluster and scores as well as anything on this mostly dead board can score. 91% to win.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AK 14D .AK +23 316
>Jim_Burlant: ?AEIRTX 1N AX +32 348
#note The obvious OX 6M was out of the question because of the three unseen O's. But scoring 32 was going to put the game out of reach. Hence, this. It's best.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EOP 4K PE.O +19 335
>Jim_Burlant: ?EIORTT O4 sORTIE +20 368
#note No bingoes play. Best is IMIDE 9A for 17.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AIINOR N9 NORIA +9 344
>Jim_Burlant: T 13M T. +4 372
#note FAT 6F scores 5 more.
>Jim_Burlant: (I) +2 374
