#player2 Jonathan_Lindh Jonathan Lindh
>Tim_O'Hara_Jr.: DEINX 8H INDEX +42 42
#note New Orleans 2017 Round 5: This is the matchup that I thought would never happen during this tournament. Chicago vs. Chicago! This was an ominous start. Keep in mind INDEXERS and INDEXING!
>Jonathan_Lindh: AAHINRT 7K RAH +21 21
#note This was a very confusing turn I spent too much time on. 7K HA, 7L AH or L2 ANTHRAX seem good too. I probably do ANTHRAX because I never draw into AINRT fishes. I did this play to distract Tim from the INDEX extensions and leave a power leave. This is OK I guess.
>Tim_O'Hara_Jr.: BOP 6J BOP +28 70
#note The board is now taking a closed, unfavorable shape. This is why I would do ANTHRAX.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEINOPT 5I TAP +26 47
#note NEAP in same spot is a little better. I wanted to leave a ATAP hook for some reason.
>Tim_O'Hara_Jr.: IMSTY 4K STIMY +35 105
#note This is looking really bad.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EILNNOT O1 TON. +21 68
#note 2nd to ONLY in same spot. Now I wish I did NEAP on previous turn to clear off the other N.
>Tim_O'Hara_Jr.: OY N2 YO. +28 133
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEILNNU -NAULI +0 68
#note Everything stinks here. I didn't want the board shut down anymore so I traded 5 keeping EN.
>Tim_O'Hara_Jr.: AER H4 EAR +10 143
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEEFNOU M3 F.E +24 92
#note Exchanging didn't help at all. I think this is best given I am behind.
>Tim_O'Hara_Jr.: EINOORS 3B EROSION +70 213
#note Best play for Tim! Now I really am in trouble!
>Jonathan_Lindh: AENOUUU -AOUUU +0 92
#note Best play! Lol! It gets better.
>Tim_O'Hara_Jr.: ADIW 2B WADI +33 246
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?BEINSV 1E BoVINES +88 180
#note Best play and only bingo! This was the start of a strange comeback.
>Tim_O'Hara_Jr.: AGR 1A RAG +22 268
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEFLOTW 2I OF +28 208
#note Didn't see the 4D overlaps at first so I figured I I'd take this obvious spot. 3rd best to WET at 4D and only -3.7. Probably was better in long run.
>Tim_O'Hara_Jr.: HU J8 .UH +15 283
>Jonathan_Lindh: ADEELTW 4D WED +37 245
#note Best play! This would be a big play that got me within comeback range of Tim.
>Tim_O'Hara_Jr.: OOT K10 OOT +11 294
#note Tim seems to have letter problems now. I have a chance.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEEELTZ L10 TEA +18 263
#note First significant mistake of the game. I miss TEAZLE or TEAZEL at L10 for 44. Mine is still in the top 10 but -22.6.
>Tim_O'Hara_Jr.: EEJR M12 JEER +32 326
#note Would TEZLE/TEAZEL have given up an even larger J play? My last play may have worked out better.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EEEKLUZ 15M .EZ +36 299
#note Bad draw but I still cash in. 14J EKUELE? I'd rather take the points now since there are not too many J spots on the board. This and my play sim about the same.
>Tim_O'Hara_Jr.: ACGILRT -ACGI +0 326
#note Exchange 4. Now I can take the lead!
>Jonathan_Lindh: EEIIKLU 6D LIKE. +19 318
#note Quackle likes exchanging EIU best but I really need the points. Mine scores the most and I think is best given the board. Only -1.3 equity behind.
>Tim_O'Hara_Jr.: GM 14L G.M +20 346
>Jonathan_Lindh: CDEILUV 9D CLUED +12 330
#note This was a very hard turn and Quackle is of little help. I need to separate the UV combo, score and block the 9 row as much as possible give the blank still out. But wait! A Q is out so I can't let Tim hit the A8 triple word score. But wait, there's more! The INDEXERS/INDEXING spot is very much in play given the pool. I can't block everything, so I do this. I'm not sure at all this is right, but probably not a huge mistake either way.
>Tim_O'Hara_Jr.: LV F8 L.V +14 360
#note I was concerned about SUQ when I made CLUED too but didn't see LUV. Can't do anything about this spot now. Cross my fingers that Tim doesn't bingo here.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ACGINQU 8H .....ING +56 386
#note SAK PASE, THE KILLER IS HERE!
>Tim_O'Hara_Jr.: ?AINR 11B RAINs +14 374
#note Not sure of Tim's other two letters. I thought I was safe, or was I?
>Jonathan_Lindh: AACLQUU C11 .QUA +26 412
#note I spent a very long time on this play makin sure it won. 7A AQUA and 7B QUA lose because they give Tim high scoring outs. This is the only winning play! I did the math about five times to make sure this won.
>Tim_O'Hara_Jr.: IST 15A TIS +23 397
>Tim_O'Hara_Jr.: (CALU) +12 409
#note We recounted and came up with the correct score as confirmed by Quackle. Tim put up one of the highest scores against me by someone outside of the top eight seeds. Well played game on both sides. This was a momentum changer for me as I won my next three after this game.
